So i just got 1 few days ago and dont want to use AT&T/Cingular. I have a friend who did unlock however he moved somewhere and i couldnt get in touch. So do any of you guys know how to unlock this new iPhone ? I know there are codes out there but cant find it. Please help!!!

 

I very highly doubt it will work with ANY other service. Even if you do manage to unlock it.

 

Yeah, this is apple we're talking about, I'm pretty sure they're meticulous about that stuff. But hey, as long as they get their take I don't think they would care too highly if you use your iPhone on a different carrier.

It WILL NOT work with Verizon or Sprint though, different technology.

That's true, they were made solely for Cingular/AT&T for the first two years or so.

 

Actually I think AT&T has a 5 yr contract with Apple to be the only service for it in the US.

Yes, AT&T does offer a prepaid plan.

 

I'm willing to bet you would find better luck and info on a phone site. Coming here is a great way to get help for a lot of products, but something so new isn't going to be all that easy here.
