Ok, well then which carrier in the US are they able to use it with? Because Cingular has different technology than outside the US.

i wasn't talking about pre paid but ok im just saying people are already finding ways to hack it

it may be true that ppl are finding ways to hack it, but this is not the place to discuss it. Scionlife has a strong policy on piracy and hacking.

Has anyone bothered to try www.howardforums.com yet? They're all about cell phones, and I'm sure have tons of people dabbling over the iPhone now.

It can't be unlocked at the moment without losing the phone functionality. Perhaps in the future, but for now, the unlocking mechanism is not able to be broken, similar to BB5 Nokia phones.

In the realm of cell phones, the word "hacking" is usually just meant as a general word for modification. There's no need for concern

There is an iTunes update coming that will allow you to manipulate your mp3's and cut out the portions of the song you would like to use as your ringtone, if I remember correctly it will only allow you to use about 30 or 40 seconds of the song and Apple will charge you $1.99 to cover the liscense fees.
