HOW MUCH IS GAS NEAR YOU???
Heh. When I was buying brand-name (Mobile, Richfield, American, Texaco, Standard) gas for my first car it was $0.23/gallon - sometimes $0.18 during a price war.
(And they pumped the gas, checked the air in my tires, washed the windshield, checked the oil, water, and brake fluid, and often gave me a Libby drinking glass for my trouble. All the glasses in my cupboard used to be from gas stations.)
Times have changed

one do your windshield, one check all the tires!
Then all Wave to you as you drive off.
That was when they were called Service Stations.

Yeah, I remember the commercials, and I remember the service, too.
Chevron Regular today In Lakewood, WA: $4.039.......
Thats crazy how gas prices jump all of a sudden. At a 76 a block from my house 2 days ago it was at 3.91 I belive and now it up to 4.19.....30 cent increase in just 2 days
Yeah lets see crude drops for 2 days and prices here go from 4.29 to 4.39? WTF!? I think its entertaining though that when the feds release info that they are 6 months into a oil investigation that the crude suddenly plummets $7. Hmmm...anyway I think we all need to face it though gas will not be going under $4 in CA anyway.
(What bugs me is that the price at the pump can jump up so fast for the same gasoline that has been in the tank at the station for days... How in heck did the fuel already delivered suddenly increase in price?)
It's weird because at the Chevron ($3.96) by my work it's about 13 cents a gallon cheaper than the 76 ($4.09) by my house BUT I get 31mpg on the 76 gas and 27mpg with the chevron-so I go to the 76.
