missouri is 30 cents cheaper than illinois (gotta love illinois gas tax) still cant figure out how gas keeps going up when price of oil is down almost $10 a barrel

its at least 4.30 maybe get lucky with 4.20. they're practically giving it away!

i go to costco for gas, last time i filled up it regular is 3.72 and premium was like 3.89. Always put premium.

3.70 is cheapest in missouri i've seen and illinois was 3.94 sunday

i still love how every year when its a busy travel weekend or memorial day weekend or whatever is a "big" weekend isn't considered price gauging to raise the price just for that reason.

our local walmart superstore went from 3.83 last nite to 3.97 this morning. a quik chek down the block was 3.85 so i popped in and topped off the wife's box.

Because fuel prices are based on the market value, not the actual cost of purchasing the gas. Its not like they raie the prices as it is pumped out of the ground and then that gas is sold for a set price. The gas you are pumping has probbly been out of the ground for months.
So they set the prices at market value based on trading of worldwide market of consumables and all that crap. (no thats notthe word, what is the trading of gold and fuel and food called. Cant think of it)

I used to think this was true as well, but last night Big Oil put this out to chew on. I was watching the national news ( CBS ) and there was a story on how the fuel we are pumping into our tanks now ( $4.33 ) is based off the price of crude when it was $90 a barrel. Now that crude hit an all new high; $138 a barrel, Big Oil is now stating that by the 4th of July the average price for regular will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $6 a gallon. Fuel already is twice what we were paying this time last year .. now in a month we can be tickling 6 bucks a gallon? Tell me again Mr. Bush how your pockets are getting bigger with your interest in Big Oil before your a$$ is booted in Nov.
