How are you dealing with the time change in the US?
I'm setting here at my desk feeling sleep deprived, dying.... that's how I'm dealing with it. Hopefully over the next couple of days my internal clock will adjust.
Here's a couple of tips I've gleamed, I may try them..
1.) Melatonin (take it in the evening time, it will help to reset the clock in your head and relax you)
2.) Exercise... take a nice brisk walk in the evening time 2-3 hours before bed, this produces seratonin which can affect sleep/wake cycles
3.) Don't sleep in... no matter how much your body wants to... trust me it will throw you off bad.
4.) Try to get into bed 1hr earlier if possible
Anyone else have tips/tricks/etc?

MONSTER ENERGY DRINKS!!!!!!!!!!!
it's actually not that bad though. i'm loving the extra day light and I swear traffic isn't so bad when it's dark in the mornings. I think everybody just sleeps in since they don't have the sun waking them up.

I had to be up at 6:15 this morning, and I was dead tired...layed there another 15 minutes. I am dragging a little bit...had some coffee and now a diet Pepsi.
This usually only affects me for a couple days. If I get to a sleep at a decent hour tonight, I should be good tomorrow.

My computer set itself two hours ahead instead of one! How about that.
Yesterday was my first day of work at my new job.. woke up 30 minutes before I had to leave.. but 10 minutes before my husband had to leave.. so went from dead sleep to awake, ready in 5 minutes and did not start my 9-hour work day off very well (standing on my feet all day).
Then I went upstairs to go to bed at what I read downstairs as 10:30.. but I came upstairs and my computer said 11:30. CRAP! But then I checked a clock we had to set ourselves and it said 10:30. So my computer is retarded?
I'm dealing with it JUST FINE (minus the body clock). I've leard lots of good things about melatonin. Maybe I'll take a look at that. I'm soooo tired. Today will be wonderful. Maybe I'll get some coffee before I head out.

I'm definitely going to go take a walk if it's not raining and pop a melatonin later this evening..
I'm an insomniac by nature so sleep is an issue... That and i'm in IT so it doesn't help being up at 2am on Sunday morning to make sure the time change patches on our servers went into effect..

Yeah, I'm an insomniac also. It was very odd to go to bed last night and not have it be 5am like it has been for a few months. But it makes Chris happy because now if I am working I will go to sleep earlier and wake up earlier and actually be doing something productive.
But it's hard on my body to switch from nocturnal to going to days. My body feels off.. but I can deal with it. Especially if I get a back rub when I get home or we go to bed.

It's been really stormy here, too. Boo.
Where do I find melatonin? Just on the shelves?
I didn't notice anything with the change... Had a bachelor party to attend Saturday night, so I only had 3 hrs of sleep, but I guess I caught up on sleep last night. I don't know, my weekends are usually shot as far as sleeping anyway..

I hate to resort to sleeping drugs... but sometimes one must do what one must do...
Though tonight, I'm going to try melatonin....
Day light savings...what's the point? Adjust the time a half an hour each way and leave it. Instead of inconveniencing me with ways to try to conserve energy why doesn't the government look into alternative methods for energy?

ie, get rid of cable, vcrs, dvd players, the internet.. that way people won't use their TV's or their computers! And then require all light be by candlelight and flashlights.

And that we cook with gas. But then the gas problem might be an issue. But that's okay, oil companies might not mind.. hehe.
And thus.... day 2 strikes fear in the hearts of the sleepless (ME)... last night I had better sleep but I still feel drained... have to get up a couple hours earlier tomorrow too to head to a court date... anyone have any suggestions on getting to bed MEGA-early when they are not used to it?
Short of alcohol abuse? lol

Cough syrup...especially some with Codine! I have a bottle of prescription cough syrup that I keep around for just such occasions. It always does the trick.
Take several swigs of Codine cough syrup and then when you start to get dizzy, go to bed. Don't be surprised if you're not "all there" the next day though. I'm usually brain dead for a few hours the morning after. Ah, it makes the day go by faster.

Or you could just go to your doctor and explain a million different ways you're having sleeping problems and get ambien.
Then you can either:
a) take the ambien and fall asleep
or
b) take the ambien but don't go to bed, be high for a while, finally pass out, and then wake up and not remember a damn thing
I choose B. And I always wake up at 8:30 am when I take ambien. And the nice thing about it is you don't feel groggy like if you take something like tylenol PM or whatever other not-made-for-sleeping drugs you can take to fall asleep.
