Default HTC Touch Pro (it's finally here!!!111!1!!1)

Ok, so yesterday morning I woke up around 11a.m. since I finished high school a week ago and thus can be lazy like that . Just to mess with some friends who were mad that I graduated early, I decided to send a couple messages to some guys who were at school telling them I was just waking up and all that good jazz, lol. Well, I sent the messages while I was still laying in bed, and within literally 2-3 minutes of getting out of the bed and the messages being sent, I dropped my phone trying to set it on my computer desk and it split in half when it hit the floor. Luckily however, I'm eligible for an upgrade as of last wednesday. So in the end, I guess I got what I deserved haha.

Sooo, the new phone I'm getting is the HTC Touch Pro (I'm on Alltel btw) and I was wondering if anyone else here has one and could tell me what they think about it? Likes? Dislikes?

Either your computer desk is like 50 feet tall, or your phone was a POS.

...Or a combination of both?

I have the touch pro and I love it. I dont know if Alltel had it modified, but I tomtom on it for GPS and performance worked great! (not out of the box, I had to flash custom roms to get it to where it is now). Only down side is that it takes a few minutes to get a GPS fix, but HTC is working on that from what I hear.

It was one of the LG's that has the problem with the top of the hinge breaking. So it wiggled a lot and wouldn't hold itself open. So it was nearly toast anyway, idk how it lasted as long as it did.

I have an HTC Touch Pro too and really like it. Its nice to be able to have my mp3 player, pda, and phone all in one device. Also, if you have an unlimited data plan check out www.qik.com , you can download an app that lets you stream live video from your phone to their website for people to see.

What's the battery life on these? Particularly under a decent or normal (whatever) amount of use per day...not like, how long will it last just sitting in your pocket all day.

Battery life is kind of meh but average for a smart phone. If I use my phone a good amount during the day I'll have about 1/2 to 1/4 battery left if I had a full charge in the morning. If I run my qik program and stream data I'll burn through the battery in about 2 hours. I generally just charge it everynight.

Woot! So this thing finally came in last night and I must say that this phone is absolutely the coolest phone I've had so far! The 3.2 megapixel camera is so so clear as well as the screen in general! I'm still getting used to using a qwerty keyboard with my thumbs but overall this is a great phone...

i just picked mine up yesterday.. pretty nifty phone i must say.. once i find the best rom for it ill flash it on there. that should help with any performance issues and some actually improve battery life.. this is the only reason why i like windows phones. i can add almost anything to it..
