bro, you've got more problems than losing your songs, but I'm sure you are aware, and I'm not trying to rub it in - just pointing out a few important things...

your PC should _not_ wipe the HD if you lose power during a reboot. I've worked with computers professionally for a long time, and it's just not that way. I would be more concerned about the health of your hard drive.

good news- looks like you're running windows XP, which has a great feature for times like these called system restore. this should take your machine back to it's state before the problem.

try this:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...w_03may19.mspx

+1 for iPodRip btw...

now that i had to do the itunessetup, non of my songs are there,a nd im running the latest itunes....

It is a long and troublesome process, but it can be done. iTunes has incorporated several anti-piracy programs into thier program to keep people from getting songs 'illegally'. I posted on here the process to do it, but it has been awhile. I will see if I can find the thread. Your best bet is to run to Borders or another book store and get a book on it. They have a ton of info in the book. Whatever you do, don't hook up the iPod unless you are SURE it will not delete your songs. We went through this a few times and now we back everything up on another PC AND an external HD.

Let me see if I can find that thread....

See! No need for a program...but it would be worthwhile to get a book on the iPod. It has been a life saver for us! If you can, try to back the song files on another PC or external HD. It makes things so much easier next time your PC crashes or iPod goes nuts.

If you used the info I gave you, I am glad I could help out.

If you used someone elses info, congrats to them!

Glad you got it all back!
