okay so yesterday i sold some parts to this guy and he handed me a hundred dollar bill and i just stuck it in my pocket without looking to see if it was real.

anways this morning i go look at it and everything about it looks FAKE.

1) it is all sketchy
2) its paper thin, and feels like paper, not cotton
3) it is from 1990.. c'mon now, bills are recycled every five years
4) it is a alot larger than a 20, and a bit bigger than a 100 dollar bill in size.

do any of you know hwo i can check if its real?

their is a line on the left side that says.. USA100 USA100 like it is supposed to, but on the right side their is no face.. but i think that was only incorporated in the newer bills right?

can someone direct me to a website or something, i have been searching all morning.

 

get one of those markers that stores use to tell if its real or not.

 

Just go to a supermarket or something and ask if they can check it for you. Maybe a bank.

also, if i have someone check it for me and its fake.. its not like they are gonna give it back, they are supposed to confescate it.

Passing bad bills is way bogus and it isn't your fault. The cash you sold the parts for is gone, at least you should nail the guy that gipped you. Maybe you could sue to get the money back, but that would be a royal PITA.

Anyway, go to the cops, NOW! Don't do it tomorrow. They're open, go on in.

well the guy who bought the parts from me was a friend of my friend so i am gonna make sure 100 percent it is fake then talk to my friend about it..

i dont really want to resort going to the cops, because if i snitch on him.. its like he is gonna get locked up for a long time.. when he gets out he comes for me duh

 

Those markers don't allways work. Some crooks bleach a small bill like a five and print a fifty or hundred onto it.
I would go directly to the police.

 

all u need to do is to look for the security strip that runs vertically on the bill on either one of the ends. if its their then its real if its not then its fake.

and f*** a jerk who scams. dont be a p***y and cry, go get your parts back or go to the cops. any friend who lets their friend gat scammed like that is not a friend. and yes if you go to the cops/bank or any store if the bill is fake they have to confiscate it and also u might get cought or prosecuted for distributing fake money.

get off you butt and solve the problem before the guy pulls a disapearing act and u can kiss that money or parts goodbye.

i am talking to my friend about it and he will take care of it. he is gonna resolve hte issue with his friend. i am going to either get my money back or another 100 for the parts.
