No, not really. There are a TON of PCs out there for around $500 that are NOT refurbs. And yes, they are dual-core.

Just priced it out on Newegg and to build it yourself with almost the same exact parts(some better) it would cost $436 including shipping. That's including a SATA HD instead of the IDE this thing has. If your not big on doing it yourself this isn't a bad deal but otherwise I'd just build it myself to save money and not have a Refurb on my hands.

*price stated is w/o keyboard, mouse, speakers, remote control thing, and OS.

Don't really care to look, but what kind of computers are they selling as refurbs for $500? Because you can go into any retail electronics store and buy a brand new computer (even some laptops) for $500 or less. You can even make your own for less.

And you could probably get one of the new ones from Dell for 499 with a 19 inch flat panel widescreen monitor
