I'm apparently REALLY important to my political party....
not!....
The election is Tuesday and somehow every freakin' candidate's computerized "song and dance" has my home phone number. I'm being inundated by tape recorded calls from every person in my registered political party who cares about my vote as well as anyone else who wants me to vote. Somehow their tape recorded messages even wait for my outgoing message to finish before leaving me a personal message telling me who to vote for.
It's now literally 10 to 20 a day. I want to know how they got my freakin' phone number and know my political leanings.
(Although, it was cool to get a personal call from Ahnold).

i am really interested in how this happens from a "privacy" point of view...i.e., how did these special interests get my freakin" number? i never gave it to anyone (that i recall).
i'm talking about...
"hello, this is Soandso Whoever, with the League of Americanyouneverheardof, please vote for Welikebetter because Theonewehate is a liar. thank you.
it just ticks me off that my home number is available to apparently any entity that links itself to my political party.

Its not just 1 party. Both partys will usually have pretty much each other's lists. The political consultants (******) toss them around like candy. I think I'm still on lists from when I worked in Goldwater's campaign!

First political 'slogan' I can remember spouting is "I like Ike!" (That was when the general was running for President the first time.)
Luckily, in my state one doesn't have to register as prefering a particular party (yet) and the vote IS actually a 'secret vote,' as it should be.
