Russia deploys missiles everywhere. The election has nothing to do with their being insanely paranoid, as they've always been like that. Good job trying to link Obama to Russia being crazy, though.

Israel and Palestine fire missiles at each other every goddamn day. The specific attack you're mentioning was actually because, BIG SURPRISE HERE, people on one side of the fighting killed people on the other. Again, nice try linking Obama to the Israel-Palestine conflict.

I really want to believe you're a troll.

What an amazing country we live in....we have the right to openly express our opinions, our thoughts and our emotions....wow....opinions are like a%%holes everybody has one and you are entitled to them...BUT this thread has turned HORRIBLY negative and that is wrong!! This whole thread was started on a positive note. Both McCain AND Obama worked hard to get the honor to run for the highest position in our country they are BOTH amazing men wanting to do amazing things, but the fact of the matter is we as americans choose Obama! I helped make that decision and I have faith in this man, I have faith that he will make good decisions that will down the road make my children's life a good one.......but either way we look at it people are ALWAYS going to complain about the president...if friggin Bart Simpson was president we would complain...we are a country that LOOOVES to complain...so whatever I am proud that I still have the right to make my own decisions when it comes to MY body!!! I am a woman and I am a mother and I want my children to have a bright future and I made my decision with that in the front of my mind...........if you attack me because of MY opinion o well like I said at the begining opinions are like ------ everyone has one and this one just so happened to be mine get over it...

I didn't vote for Mr. Obama and I don't believe exactly what he does, but I refuse to bash him because I want this country to succeed. If we don't back our President then he has no backbone because the citizens are the backbone to any country. The government is nothing without its people!
So wait, you're saying this country is the greatest country on earth because we have the right to freely and openly dissent... but that we shouldn't take advantage of said right?

I didn't say any other country was "better". I said that if we're using the measure to which countries give their citizens free speech, this is not the sole "best" country. Also, exchange rates to most countries would make me too poor to live there.

I will "bash" anyone who is in office to the fullest extent of the laws of the land and common sense, President-elect Obama included, because it's my right to do so. If we don't critisize and dissent against our President, then nothing will change.

It's government...both McCain and Obama work for the same people. The change was empty. I am sorry. I heard the word change, but never hear it followed by how! He is pushing the same ideals that Presdent Clinton did when he was in office. We were in war. He took us out. We had lower taxes. He allowed the tax breaks to expire. It's the same old song and dance.

Just an observation....I have seen many blogs and message boards after the elections this time and previous years. It really does come across to me that those that voted Republican this year are really upset and slamming others for voting for Obama. It really seems like they are acting like sore losers....I believe that if McCain won sure *I* would be upset, but I don't go around slamming others for having their OWN political beliefs. We are all different...we have different reasons for voting for who we did.

Why does it seem everything with some Republicans who go around boards slamming people that everything has to be gloom and doom? Geesh it just might be that Obama does pull this country out of the mess Bush made of it the past several years....but Republicans refuse to see that.

McCains speech was wonderful....if whoever wrote that speech ran the rest of his campaign he might have had a better chance.

He lost....get over it. Seriously this is getting rediculous!

^^ Very well put Jenn....

A personal observation of my own..look at our track record with presidents....when a Republican sits in office our country ends up financially in the hole...and then comes along a Democrat fixed the problem and things start looking better....then we mess up again and elect a republican who takes us back down.....it's a cycle...just my observation why can't we just stop the bashing be proud that we live in a country where we get to decide who will lead us...majority rules Obama won McCain lost that's just how it is deal with it..stop being spiteful cause you didn't get things your way....

I agree Jenn! This bashing is too much. If McCain won I wouldn't be on here with tears in my beer crying foul and all that. enough is enough....whining and _____ing won't change anything... We all need some TOLERANCE.....if more people were taught tolerance this world would be a different place!

Because their minds are still firmly planted in the vitriolic Rovian neo-conservative gutter that those like Rove and O'Reilly and Savage create; anything other than neo-conservatives in power will lead to the country's downfall.

You see the same thing with fundamentalist religion: anything other than <religion> will be society's undoing. They also exhibit their fear of losing perceived power the same way; universal hate and doomsaying.

Did I mis-read the subject of this topic in the Pacific Northwest Regional Forum or something?

I could swear it said "Congrats..." and was in a regional forum.

*checking*

Yup! That's what it said!

Why do we have a whole bunch of incredibly negative, name-calling, anti-congratulatory posts from other parts of the country in here?

Can't you folks pick enough fights elsewhere? Why in a regional congratulatory topic?

I'm locking this topic and asking politely that those who are just here to argue and complain find somewhere else to do it.

In fact, if I find the time I will split this topic into two separate topics, one for congratulatory posts right here in the PNW and the other over in the Off-Topic Cafe for all the folks from here and elsewhere who can find nothing better to do than to complain and cause dissension.

OK, this is the dregs from an up-beat topic over in the PNW regional forum - mostly posts made by people from other than that region in direct opposition to the intent of that topic.

It has been moved here to the Off-Topic Cafe so those intent on being as negative as possible have a place to do it.

(Not every topic is an invitation for you to jump in and bash other people's opinions. Don't do it...)

I do try to be polite, Scott.

Doesn't always work.

Oh, well.

Could I ask you to help me keep an eye on the incredible amount of bashing of fellow ScionLife members being done by the conservative complainers who cannot seem to accept that the election is OVER and they LOST?

Thanks! :D

You can live like a king in Iceland, Mexico, and the Philippines. My pick would be Iceland.

The stock market is ALWAYS a rollercoaster. Even in times of turmoil.

By the way, I forgot who it was that tried to use the "go try for a home loan" argument in here because that's what has been in the news.

I just bought a house the day before the election and got a home loan to do it. It isn't tough if you have a job, and a good credit score. The loan crisis is coming from a large portion of people who just stopped paying their bills. Not singling out one economic group, but thats what happened. If the rich stopped paying, they would foreclose. If the poor stop paying, they foreclose quicker.
