I've made up my mind to go on a mission.
Well, I've had a big change of mind and heart, and I'm not going to buy a Scion xB, or any car for that matter.
Next summer I'm going to leave for a two year mission instead. I'll be 21 when I get back, and by than I'm sure a car will be in the plans. Who knows, Scion will probably have much cooler cars out by 2008 anyway, or any other car make.
I've been doing a lot of thinking, and I really need to be going on a mission. I want to go, more than anything I want to go now.
I just had a friend return from his two year mission for our church (the church of jesus christ of latter day saints). I talked with him and he's changed so much. His experiences have given me a desire to serve a mission. It's kind of strange that I'm finally trully wanting to go. I've had two brothers return from missions. One brother went to Brazil and the other went to Korea. My brother who served in Korea is now living in Korea because he loved the country and the people so much, and he wants to continue his school there.
I feel more than anything now that a mission is what I need to do, and what I want to do. Yeah it's kind of sad that I wont be getting an xB anymore, but it isnt important. The car will still be drifting around when I get home, a better car will be out. Cars arent important right now, I have my whole life to myself, its worth it to devote two small years from my intire exhistance to the Lord.
I'll miss these forums, and I'll miss the idea of buying a car. But I'll get so much more than a car.
I guess this is goodbye, maybe I'll be back, maybe I wont, we'll see what happens in two years.
Peace out guys, it was fun while it lasted.

I congratulate you on your decision. As a convert, it's a little late for me to serve a mission. If I'd converted when I was a teenager, I probably would've done it. The missionaries in my area are great, I'm going to cook them a Christmas dinner since no one else signed up for that day.
If they ship ya to the D.C. mission, maybe one of your stops will be the Seneca Ward in Germantown. If so, see ya then. Good luck from one Mormon to another.

Thanks all! I can't wait till I'm in the mission field!
Two of my friends are just about to head off in the next few months. One is going to Las Vegas (Good thing he's a spiritual guy), the other will be getting his call in the next two or three weeks, he's hoping to go anywhere over seas
