James Brown 1933-2006
It's a sad X-mas as The Godfather of Soul passed away Monday morning at 1:45 am in a hospital in Atlanta. "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business" was on tour when he was hospitalized for pneumonia Sunday night. One of my musical heroes, and has passed before his time as he was only 73. I feel lucky that I got a chance to see him live a few years ago, and experience his gift first hand. A brilliant musician and band leader.

GET ON THE GOOD FOOT JB:
I just read this too and saw the news a couple hours ago saying he was hospitalized but he released a statement saying he would hope to be performing next week. Truly the hardest working man in show business if you can release a statement like that on your death bed. We love you JB. You will be missed, and never forgotten.
When I was in Junior High School there was no bigger black performer than James Brown. He dominated the charts. He had his own trading stamps similar to blue chip or green stamps. ( I know most of you have no idea what I am talking about). His contribution to Soul, R&B, and Rap can not be minimalized. Truly--Papas got a brand new bag....RIP
James Brown changed my life ... ... ... rest in peace.
