Sounds like you might have a good case. I once "quit" a job because the owner drove the company into a cash flow problem and I hadn't been paid in 6 weeks. Fortunately my letter of resignation documented this. My claim was initially denied because when California's Employment Development Dept. called, the old boss told them I had quit. I mailed a copy of the resignation letter in with my notice appealing the decision, and was later approved.

If you have letters to your employer documenting the hostile work environment, or asking about the reduction in hours vs. your seniority, you will probably have your claim approved. It just might take an appeal and a little time. Good luck with it.
