Join Current TV/Current.com and help out a fellow Scionlifer
So I know that there are some smart people on here who are either politically opinionated or just into world news and information. I goto UC Davis and have just been hired as a Campus Outreach Representative at Current TV, a news resource channel that Al Gore created a few years back and is in 58 million homes in America.
My job is basically to promote it and get its name out there, and to get as many people as I can to sign up to the site, www.current.com,and add my name Ryz0n as a connection
Current is a user-based news resource, that deals with stories and videos from politics, to entertainment, to technology to the weirdest stuff going on in the world. The beauty is it's a news resource that is not corporate like CNN, MSNBC, or FOX, that only airs certain kinds of stories.
Explore the website a little, and you'll see that you can upload news stories and submit viral videos that will get aired on tv. It's kind of like a social news website like digg, but the incentive for commenting and adding news stories is that they'll end up on television. And your profile tracks progress of how many times you've been on TV.
You get on TV in front of 58 million people when you comment the top news stories on the homepage that are decided by the users, voting them up or down. If you leave a text or video comment that they like, you'll be featured in the hourly news segment and can get your voice heard.
Here I am video commenting a story that made the news, rather effortlessly.
