Ok so I was driving around the streets of memphis the other day in my Tc(which ive fallen in love with) when I see this black civic I believe it was but I cant be for sure since it was de-badged.I could notice that he had a primer colored bodykit on it from quite a ways off, so when i finally pull up behind him at a red light my eyes werent decieving me...this guy had a primer colored bodykit with cracks and scratches all over it. Now in my mind it doesnt make since to spend all your hard earned cash on a body kit,even a beat up one, and not get it painted before you put it on your car so your car wouldnt be two different colors,granted alot of custom 2-tone paintwork is sweet but primer on black?I dunno, well when i thought it couldnt get worse I look down and I see this HUGE exhaust tip that I swear I could stick my foot in if not more.I never did get to see the driver because he pulled into a house right after the light but I have a good feeling he would have acted like a hardass if I had pulled up next to him.Now sorry for talking your head off this whole time but i was just hoping someone would get a laugh...I sure as hell did

 

I see that all the time down hear in south-east texas riced out civics and in houston a 2004 V-6 Mustang with V-tech

Man I thought I was the only one from BMT here, and on friday and saturday nights go to World gym over by Fast Eddies and guys from around beaumont and other cities go out there, not all of them but alot have body kits or parts of their kits not painted. And I got my TC from Kinsel Scion.

 

Sweet, I want a v-tech rustang...but it has to have type-r stickers all around

 

Haha thats good I got one for you I was at work the other night staring out the window and I see this lil bubbly car coming towards me from a distance (nothing unusual yet) as it turns completely in my direction I am blinded by the lights of it. I squint to see beyond the brighttness to find this car has fake a** HIDS and not 1 but 2 sets of fog lights on the front bumper 1 set was horribly bright yello the other was pure white and the wannabe HIDS were ebay blue looking. After the car passes by me I am staring at the back of it and notice its a Ford focus (the hatchback I believe its zx3) Im now laughing my a** of because I notice he has an exhaust (hanging down) that is big enough a chihuahua can prolly walk into it. Just thought I would share after reading the above stories..

 

what if he was taking it to the paint shop, or maybe he bought a body kit because he had a damaged one before hand. or maybe he wanted to see if it would fit, got lazy and said f*ck it. why take it off when im gonna have to put it back on.

Some people just dont have the pleasure of throwing money out the window like that to make themselves feel better ( i for one dont). so if the man had a primered up kit let it be.

but then again hes prolly telling his friends "there was this turtle shaped lookin car behind me the other day, it looked horrible".

With all the Scions being new, we are mostly dealing with new parts. With Hondas and such, there is a much larger market in used parts so picking something that doesn't match is more likely. That being said, there are personal reasons for waiting/not waiting until it is painted. It seems silly to me to put it on before getting painted because I would want to get the parts painted before attaching them. Maybe some peeps plan on getting the whole car painted. Unfortunately, they rarely make it past the "planned' stage.
