ok so im trying to buy a new tv but can not decide on what to go with ,,,,
the plasma's are so f'n nice but i hear and read from the review that it has burn in like asap when ya play 360/ps3 so dont want that .but lcd is a bit slower so thus has slight blur motion but no burn in?the tvs im looking into are the samsung 50 inch plasma 720p maybe 1080p and dont want to shell out almost 2k to get burn in...i did notice the samsung lcd 1080p was about 400 cheaper so i really dont know..does anyone here have a plasma or lcd hooked up to a console that can help me out?or if any one has any pros to why one woul dbe betere inthe long run?
To me, the biggest advantage of LCD is the fact that the screen is non-glare. Most plasma TVs have a shinny glass screen and if you are in a room with windows, glare can be a big issue. That's not a problem with LCD. LCDs also use less power.

plasmas usually have a early time period when first used that they are more susceptible to burn-in.
after a few hundred hours of operation, they are less likely to get burn-in, and it also does depend on the game itself as well.
video games with more static images will be the ones that may create the problems of burn-in.. but to achieve something like that.. you would need days of continuous play.
also, more modern plasmas have some protection against burn-in.
just don't be stupid about it, really... either that, the choice is still up to you.

I have a 42 inch plasma TV that i play wii on and a 40 inch LCD that I play 360 on and I have never had a problem with either TV. The quality between the 2 TVs is roughly the same. Its tough for the eye to realize 5ms. And its pretty likely that youll automatically adjust.
Plasmas are more for a home theater type set up. its better for watching movies and stuff like that. U can use a gaming system on a plasma but with time ur gonna get the burn ins. I say go with a LCD, thats what I recommend my gaming customers. I say go with the 46" Samsung LN46A550. Its a great Tv and its very very good for Gaming.
