Default LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT (zidane the beast)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1i_l...page=1&t=t&f=b

1. the video clearly shows that the italian guy (Materazzi) is holding Zidane back

2. zidane looks at him and they exchange words (BOTH of the players) and this is a matter of a couple of seconds - so whoever says that the italian guy called him many things (ranging from terrorist, to yr sister's a hoe, to yr mom will die, to yr a loser, etc..) they are wrong unless Materazzi is able to speak 20 words in 2 seconds

3. zidane starts to walk off then takes a lil run to get ahead of Materazzi and charges him like a bull hitting him in the heart - once again to those of u who say "oh what a whimp" i'd like u to try it and i'm pretty sure u'd be on the floor for a month and not playing soccer

4. zidane is a veteran he should know better than to get upset over words. do u have any idea of how many times players exchange far worst comments? and what do they do? either they reply back or they are superior and brush it off. no one (for the exception of a few and they are crazy too Totti included) reacts in such a demeaning way

5. i would have understood if zidane were a fresh 18 yr old player with a hot head but a veteran in his last world cup? cmmon...

6. oh BTW this happened also 6 yrs ago he charged on another player. so u'd like to tell me that whoever offends him deserves to get a blow on the heart?

7. I'm not doubting his soccer skills indeed he's a good player but he should have used his head for thinking not for looking like a bull. zidane plays in an italian league team and like that he jeopardized his career in italy and he knows that very well

8. it just upsets me to see this because if it were the opposite (a.k.a. zidane provoked materazzi and materazzi behaved like a beast) we would have been called as such by newspapers all over the world

mio caro zidane sei fottuto

I don't think he was being a wimp. I think he was just doing what is second nature to ALL soccer players, trying to sell the foul. I mean let's be honest, he wasn't hit hard enough to completely take him off his feet. In fact, i think it's pretty comical to watch since he goes flying off the ground almost instantly like he was expecting it.

But you're right though, there is no excuse for behavior like that...period. He definitely got what he deserved.

Yes, Zidane totally screwed his team over with that stupid headbutt, but Materazzi is a dirty, rotten (although talented) cheat. IMO, they both got what they deserved

I'm not saying I agree with what Zidane did, but I understand

I found this quote on theage.com. I just found it to be hilarious and marginally relevant.

"Before we harshly judge Zidane, let's explore the anthropological and cultural origins of the headbutt. As old as the dinosaur, the headbutt is the universal male symbol for territorial aggression when hands and words just aren't enough. The message it sends, in so many words is: I'm angry and don't feel like punching you or beating you fairly, so I'm going to launch my head at yours. And the idea, roughly speaking, is to establish dominance and win the girl, or the soccer match, whichever comes first."

yes i'd concurr to equal him to a dinosaur

stankubrick - u see if zidane wasn't able to express himself verbally he could have just followed Totti's example and spat in the guy's face that would have been far more humiliating without having to phisically hurt anyone

which brings me to point # 9
9. i also think that somewhere in his mind zidane wanted to hurt Materazzi because italy had no more substitutions left but that's my theory

gonzo_xb: i know for a fact that if i had received such a blow i'd be complaining about it for years to come - but then again i'm kinda of a princess when it comes to physical injuries

1. the video clearly shows that the italian guy (Materazzi) is holding Zidane back.Indeed

2. zidane looks at him and they exchange words (BOTH of the players) and this is a matter of a couple of seconds - so whoever says that the italian guy called him many things (ranging from terrorist, to yr sister's a hoe, to yr mom will die, to yr a loser, etc..) they are wrong unless Materazzi is able to speak 20 words in 2 seconds. It was 16 seconds and there was plenty of time to demean the family.

3. zidane starts to walk off then takes a lil run to get ahead of Materazzi and charges him like a bull hitting him in the heart - once again to those of u who say "oh what a whimp" i'd like u to try it and i'm pretty sure u'd be on the floor for a month and not playing soccer. Bulls take longer runs. Materazzi actually almost walked into him. Zidane just stood his ground and threw a "header" style headbutt into his sternum(the heart makes materazzi sound like a little girl as a shot to the heart hurts much less than a sternum shot).

4. zidane is a veteran he should know better than to get upset over words. do u have any idea of how many times players exchange far worst comments? and what do they do? either they reply back or they are superior and brush it off. no one (for the exception of a few and they are crazy too Totti included) reacts in such a demeaning way.Or they f**k the other dude up throughout the match in various situations.

5. i would have understood if zidane were a fresh 18 yr old player with a hot head but a veteran in his last world cup? cmmon...stress and pressure were high. you ever been in that situation before? then lets not say its easy.

6. oh BTW this happened also 6 yrs ago he charged on another player. so u'd like to tell me that whoever offends him deserves to get a blow on the heart? Again...sternum...makes me giggle when I hear heart. And, the only reason that incident 6 years ago mattered was because of this one and he is famous. Many less known players do much worse things and don't get half the press time. Rooney got lucky that Zidane overshadowed his little deal.

7. I'm not doubting his soccer skills indeed he's a good player but he should have used his head for thinking not for looking like a bull. zidane plays in an italian league team and like that he jeopardized his career in italy and he knows that very well.Do you think he's worried about playing in Italy? Spanish Primera and EPL are very probable options.

8. it just upsets me to see this because if it were the opposite (a.k.a. zidane provoked materazzi and materazzi behaved like a beast) we would have been called as such by newspapers all over the world. I don't like the "beast" misnomer either. Is a man a beast because he is provoked to fight? If so, I've been a "beast" in MANY MANY MANY MANY soccer matches.

mio caro zidane sei fottuto And, I don't know what this means.

And, Zidane did not screw over his team. With Vieira, Henry, and Ribery out, they lost three of their best kickers. If Zidane would have been in it, he wouldn't have kicked because Trezeguet missed and Zidane would be last.

I'm getting tired of this World Cup-Zidane stuff. You probably won't see me replying very much more on all this stuff. PM me if you really care to get after me.

i don't pm ppl for such things, if u said what u tought and are interested in following what others reply to what u said u can read it here

2. i watched the game it was not 16 seconds again more like 5 seconds of them looking at each other and actually talking
3. materazzi was walking straight zidane run a lil further and placed himself in front of materazzi
5. no i have never been in that situation and neither has any one of us, and i sure don't get paid the millions he gets paid
6. so next we should expect a player to kill another player so they overshadow other player's errors
7. no i dont think italy wants an animal in their teams (hopefully) but nice way to thank a team that has put a lot of time and effort into u
8. soccer field is not a field of soldiers it's a field of players, soldiers fight players play leave what is meant for others to them

uhm the heart is to the slight left right next to the sternum and that's where he got hit

2. i watched the game it was not 16 seconds again more like 5 seconds of them looking at each other and actually talkingWatch your video...13 seconds of crap talking occurred and then the headbutt. And, thats just showing you the crap talking from when Materazzi was holding him back and not prior. The talking could have been going on all match.
3. materazzi was walking straight zidane run a lil further and placed himself in front of materazzi.Did he charge him like a bull? No. Of course he ran in front of him. He was going to get back into the action until Materazzi couldn't drop it.
5. no i have never been in that situation and neither has any one of us, and i sure don't get paid the millions he gets paidIndeed.
6. so next we should expect a player to kill another player so they overshadow other player's errorsNo. Just another incident just like in your daily news. This burglary is a huge deal until another burglary at another place occurs. Its natural that the newest occurrance gets the most attention.
7. no i dont think italy wants an animal in their teams (hopefully) but nice way to thank a team that has put a lot of time and effort into u He can play wherever he wants for whoever he wants. Don't think he'll mind leaving Italy.
8. soccer field is not a field of soldiers it's a field of players, soldiers fight players play leave what is meant for others to them.I don't know who brought up the idea of people having rifles over their shoulders, but I didn't. Everyone fights, not just soldiers...as you can see by the videos I just posted.

uhm the heart is to the slight left right next to the sternum and that's where he got hitIf you would, please check the video again(the mortal kombat one gives the best view and constant view). The number of the Italian players is located on the center of the chest(sternum). Zidane's head hits that spot as you can see it as Materazzi begins to fall on his ****.

1. the video might be 1 hr long the actual talking words coming out of materazzi's lips in that scene is only a couple seconds
2. he did charge him like a bull he ran foward turned around and went for materazzi - i call that charging
3. once again he can leave italy we don't need another idiot in our country, we already have more than enough
4. yes and u think those ppl that turn a game into a fight look cool? they are all a bunch of loosers with no education and that can be clearly seen
5. the heart unlike popular belief is situated practically in the middle of the chest just slightly off to the left

u know we could go on like this forever don't u?

1.Oh, so you're only talking about that little blip out of 111'.

2.Charging? Charging is running after someone or something with intent. He ran past him to go play and then was provoked to stop and turn around. That is not charging.

3. Indeed.

4. Are they cool? No. Do they defend themselves? Yes. Are they "little girls?" No. Did I ever mention them being cool? Does it matter if they have an education? They're making hundreds of thousands more than you and me to play one of the best games ever.

5. The sternum is the actual bone his dome came in contact with...pretty sure he didn't headbutt his heart.

6. Yes, but work isn't very eventful today minus someone stealing a nav unit out of a bad **** used truck yesterday(they hit up 6 other dealerships too...they were pretty good. gone in 60 seconds stereo style.)

1. yes
2. charging is actually running towards something/someone not after someone/something so yeah it was charging and that's why the media refers to this situation as bull head too. he wasn't going off to play because he had that stupid smirk of his on his face and knew what he was about to do if his intention was to go continue playing, that's what he would have done words or no words
4. no in this case education doesn't matter to them & no wonder they behave like animals, and i prefer a billion times more my salary earned with my brains rather than a huge one "earned" with my feet - besides i dunno how old u are but im young and hopefully that gap will be much tinier :D
5. i know what and where the sternum is i have 2 fractured ribs and i also know he didn't literally touch the heart cos he'd be under the ground most prob. by now, i meant as in the area of the heart
6. glad to know i can be robbed faster

1.Okay.
2. Do you have ESP-n? (haha) I'm pretty sure you don't know what his intentions were. Media portrays things differently to get more views(I'm not a media lover and I'm in marketing).
4. I'd rather earn money having fun which is why I'll be a golf course pro rather shortly.
5. Indeed again.
6. It was pretty crazy that someone had the "*****" to rob us in broad daylight. We have them on tape so we'll see how long that takes. We got lucky they only stole one from us(Hyundai had 3...GM had 4 or 5).
