.mac users.
UNIX user since '81, added Macs in '86, have never used MS Windows.
Don't have any of the new MacIntels, yet, just running an assortment of PowerPC Macs in my 'nest.'

(That's some of 'em. There's also an iMac on the LAN. Have some old ones in storage - Mac SE and original iMac, etc.)

Your phone = teh suck. I used to have that same phone........hated it. Oh, and we share small TVs- I have the same one. Do you also have a dual-USB iceBook around there...??? LOL
Yeah, the 'Book in the backgraund is a dual ice. That phone has worked fine for me for years, and I like that it continues to work through a power failure (backup batt's in the base) and doesn't interfere with the wireless LAN like the newer 2.4GHz phones do).
I spent a quarter century as an engineer/engineering manager/project manager/technical writer, for the last 9 of those years my shop had over 200 Macs as engineering work stations and a massive IBM AIX (UNIX) machine as the 'big' resource.
Trust me, those Macs are good for a lot more than graphics. Their biggest advantage is up-times between boots measured in months instead of hours when properly administered.
My own company (much smaller) was Mac and UNIX based, also, and we never really had 'computer problems.'
With any machine I prefer something that just sits quietly and does it's job.
For me, computers are simply a "tool" to help accomplish my real job, and any computer that needs to be a job unto itself, as I see with so many MS Windows machines, is a poor tool.
Luckily, though, this is not an OSX vs XP site or topic. :D

I have NEVER seen anyone on the internet who used OS X on a good machine go back to Windows and go, "Wow, I am so glad that I'm back- that Apple stuff was GARBAGE."

You may not get what's going on here, so I'll explain it: the user is switching between Mac OS X, Ubuntu (Linux) and Windows XP without rebooting and without much of a performance hit. This is done through a technology called virtualization. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualization )
People may whine about the price of Macs, but I'd rather have a machine that lets me have MORE options than LESS options. If you buy a Mac and hate the OS......fine, put Windows on there. Enjoy the machine.
As far as converting people, the Intel transition was pure genius. People usually look at the iLife apps and go COOL! These are all free?!?! And........ if I don't like it.........I can go back to Windows? Sweeeeet.
What's coming out as far as the Power Macs............well, AFAIK, they're hotter than two Jessica Albas wresting the devil himself in a pit of molten steel. (in a good way)

You Computer NERD!!...haha..just mess'in!!..Thanks for the lengthy tech support...thats cool stuff to know...I feel more educated now!!...woo-hoo!!
i bought a 15 inch powerbook about 2 1/2 years ago i think...who cares, i've had it for awhile. i love it. best machine i've ever used. i love the fact that when i get home from road trips i can just plug the camera in and upload it, and it works with both my cameras and no software installs.
i just got a windows macine to play WoW on, and that damn thing crashes allll the time. i mean, it runs WoW better when it runs it, but it's a desktop. my friend has two of the new imacs with the intels, and they run WoW just as good as my windows desktop, but they don't crash.
plus, now that i'm used to the UI on the Apple OS, i like it better.

played w/ my sisters friends 12" ibook one night, next day i was at her house ordering a 14" ibook! this was back last january (2005). waiting to get a new house w/ my wife before we get an iMac! I'll never ever go back, have converted one friend into a mac user (iBook) , another friend just ordered his last week (macbook) and one of my big PC buddies (who always helped me rebuild my PC, my dad's PC and my sisters PC that ALWAYS crashed) into buying a new iMac. He just spent over 2k building a super huge computer, to only find out that the new iMac will do that and more for about 3/5 the cost!
