Well, after 10 hours of waiting, and 2 stores, i didnt get one. BUT!! 3 ppl were arrested and for the 6 systems that target did have, there were bout..hmm..100+ ppl there going for it. Wanna know how thye did it? kk. Basically, u couldnt formally line up till 10pm, which is when they closed.. so every1 hung around in the parking lot. Around 8-9pm, it started getting super-packed, like a mob bout to storm target. Anywayz, around 10, they would bring out a sign to start the line, but they didnt tell us where, and whoever got there first would b first to get one. Well, they only had 6 systems, so the first 6 would get it. When it was time to run, ppl got crazy. Of course, after 8 hours, i was like, wat the hell, i'm running. Unfortunately..they tricked us. Every1 thought it would at the front door, and so i was gathered around that area. But then they put the sign next to the pharmacy, But anywayz, i got there, but not fast enuf, and got squished a bit by the folks after me. O, and every1 i asked was buying to sell,

 

ohh man i would buy the wii just to play chrono trigger again!!!......best rpg ever and best SNES game everrrr made!!!

 

Give me an example of "innovative game play". And if you didn't care about the graphics, processing speed, or frame rate, then why are you not still playing the Atari, or Sega Genesis?

You quoted 2 different people, so it doesn't negate his point. "YourName"s point was simply that adding a DVD player into the standard system would increase the price, and that basically everyone has a DVD player already.

Cessblood said that they will have an add-on for it. Since it's an add-on, it won't be a mandatory purchase. Also, I doubt it'll still put the cost at $599.99 plus tax. And it will most likely be working properly from the get go.

 

I can honestly say that I didn't do a lot of research into what the Wii offers, but today, I went into Target and saw it on display. It was not playable, so I just watched the video feature on it. It does seem cool. And for only $250, it's a good buy. What I didn't like was

- the games seem like they were all kiddie games

- more along the lines of a throw back than a next generation system

- kinda seems like a glorified version of PS2's Eye toy

With that said, I might pick one up just for the heck of it with that cheap price. It will hold me over till the PS3 comes back around.

 

Red steel looks very cool. also wii boxing is going to be alot of fun with friends. there is also a steering wheel atachment that you fit the wiimote into for driving games. since you wiimote can be used likea mouse RTS and FPS shooter games are going to just as good if not better then on a PC.

I do still play SNES games on my computer all the time. Link to the Past is one of my top 5 fav games of all time. i still play goldeneye also.

if you dont want to buy a wii...then shut up cause noone cares. what you think

I wonder what PS3 games are going to be like Wii games, as the PS3's controller also interacts the same way Wii's remote does.

 

I played the PS3 at Gamestop today I was playing NBA 07 on it and I didn't see anything different in the graphics between the systems. It look like the xbox360. In my opinion NBA 2K6 look better on the xbox360. I heard "Call of duty 3"play and looks better on the xbox360 then the PS3. Gameplay counts more then graphics. I think the Wii is going to have some games with some crazy gameplay. the PS3's controllers is no where close to the Wii's controllers.
The Wii's controllers is more interactive with the games then the PS3 's controllers with their games.

PS3 does have the motion sensors on them, but as cessblood said, it won't be as in depth(not necessarily the best choice of description, but I was drinking so bear with me) with the games. The Wiimote interacts entirely with the game. The PS3 controller is used here and there(IIRC).

Still kinda find it funny that sony said they would not have motion sensors in the controller, back when it was still the boomerang looking thing. Then after Nintendo released the info, the next press release added them in. Then again, that is what every type of business is about and I think it's great. Someone makes something new, everyone else copies it and adds a little to it. Eventually it's better than it was originally imagined. That's how it should be.

 

 

not necessarily.. i know some companies in other areas are keeping major secrets from competing companies and the public to keep those companies guessing as to how far that one company is going with a new model for something... .... so they're going to basically try to outbeat each other blindly...

that's MUCH more fun...

 

Remember when Nintendo came out with "The Glove"? Could it have been ahead of it's time, hence why it never really caught on? As the Wii's remote brings me back to when they came out with the Glove.

yes the wii remote can even tell how hard you swing for golf and it can even sense how you bowl. I bowl with an awful curve and it also picked up on that. I also like the speaker in the controller. All I did yesterday was play the wii!!

I can't wait for NFS to come out on Tuesday!

 

All of this hubub over a video game console. Its just retarded. I do have a PS2 and a lot of games, but I hardly ever play the thing. Gettin this excited over a video game console is like gettin excited for a Hansen Tour. Just doesnt make sense.
