Well, now Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, and every other comedian who makes racial remarks should now be fired right???

Not in Sharpton's world.

This is absurd.

There's a stunning difference between the 3's employers.

It was a major overreaction to the situation and comment, as there usually is. Just once I'd love for a major media outlet to say: go ahead, boycott.

I was listening to the Adam Corolla show this morning (I think that was the one) and I think they made a good comparison. I don’t remember it word for word, but this is what I made of it….

Sharpton (etc.) are like janitors. **** happens, and they do a damn good job cleaning it up. But they are so good at their job, that eventually they run out of **** to clean. So when nobody is paying attention, they knock over a garbage can, announce the mess, clean it up, and then put up the “wet floor” signs to let people know that they did something.

Yeah Sharpton takes everything way too seriously. But I don't think its right for that old fart to call some black girls a bunch of nappy headed hos. He's in no postion to call anyone anything. He looks like something out of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

It's different with chappelle or chris rock. They do it to get laughs and make people feel good. Imus did it cuz he's a douche...

I think he should be fired cuz he's an idiot and I can't stand him...

And as for that second video I dunno if I disagree with all that was said. I mean in the south racism is very alive. Here in Jersey we're really to busy to care what color you are or what religion you believe in. As long as you don't commit any criminal activities then you're fine by my standard...

^ I agree w/ that but there are a lot of racist people in NJ also. I honestly dont give 2 poops what color you are if you are a cool person. College really opened my eyes to different races because here in NJ ...there are a ton.

But also - Nappy is the type of hair. A ho is someone who likes going to hotels. If you really think about it he said it in a down south way but what did he actually say? In reality he described hair and called a girl a word that isnt nice. Is that really grounds for getting fired? Does he really think as trashy as he sounded when he said it? ....who knows

yea there are racist people everywher no doubt...

but yea its just something that should never have been said.. I dont think racial jokes are the best thing in the world but at least those are said to get a laugh. This wasnt even like a joke that went overboard, it was am unwarranted comment.. And you heard the guy in the backround saying "they look more like the grizzles..." I mean thats not a joke, thats completely uncalled for.

heres something thats somewhat alright.. "black people are the best at baskteball because they can run steal and shoot.." haha, its a joke, not directed at anyone

but calling the rutgers womens basketball team a bunch of "nappy headed hos" and "grizzlies" as well as others things is demeanind, untrue, and takes away from a great season...

Again, I think it would be best if neither was said, but what I am saying is that racial jokes are meant to be funny, as as long as they are respectful (for a joke) then its somewhat alright, whereas like I said before Imus is just a douche and comments like this are just uncalled for..

Here’s another vid, not so disturbing as the last 2:
http://www.break.com/index/balls_of_...black_guy.html

Chappelle, now there’s a guy who puts a humorous twist on racism.

“Black-white supremacist”, now that was a good skit. I liked the part at the end where whats-his-name (the reporter) stated that Bigsby divorced his wife of xx-years, and when asked why, “because she’s a n***** lover”

I also like the skit he did where he was a milk-man who delivered to a family called the _____rs. It was set back in the 50’s (when racism was the worst) and this guy could insert their name into a “derogatory phrase” and they would just laugh because they were ignorant (was just their name).

On a more serious note…

Racism still exists today. Some people are intentional, and some people just don’t know any better. Some people truly believe that such-and-such race is superior/inferior, and some people just don’t know any better. Ignorance is not an excuse, but sometimes can be an explanation……

Again, to the

STEREOTYPES (add any you know) --- European-Americans are racist. British men have bad teeth, and French women don’t shave. African-Americans are gangsters. Mexican’s are lazy, and Mexican-Americans (…followed by Cheech and Chong’s song…). Canadians are pussies. Russians are Communists. Asians can’t drive. Arabs are terrorists. The dingo ate the baby and the toilets swirl clockwise (Arnold, he’s cool).

I disagree with the people saying that Chris Rock and Dave Chapelle can say it because they mean it for laughs.

If I(being a white man) tell a joke that uses the N-word in it, and I mean it to be funny, I'm a racist. If I told a joke about a whit guy it's fine.

If one of the above mentioned comedians tells a joke(or does an entire stand up routine) regarding white people, and the whacky things we do, it's all good.

That is racism. There is no such thing as reverse-racism. That is someone making up a fancier way of saying what it really is. It's friggin racism.

That new Nick Cannon show on MTV just had a commercial about how the next episode was talking about the weird ways white people say hello. The clip mocked a few white guys at work talking at a water cooler. Guess what, not all white people act/talk like that. To me, that can be filed under R for racism.

Whether it's meant to be funny or meant to be mean, it's ____ that doesn't need to be said and thats that. If the Imus situation was dealt with away from the camera crews, it would've been done with the following day. Should he have said it, no he shouldn't have. But we can't police what people say 100%, and we shouldn't try.

You need to check out a comedian named Ralphie. He's big fat white guy that tells a bunch of racial jokes. He's frickin hillarious too. He's got a skit about the joys of going to a black theater to watch a black movie and how he can't wait for Undercover Brother 2 to hit the screens. And yes, the black folks in the audience (a bunch of them) were laughing too, just like the white folks at a Chris Rock concert laugh too.

And I watch the Sopranos, don't even try talking noise about how there isn't much racism in NJ. It's different, but it's still there. In fact, you're more likely to run into a more refined style of racism where you even seperate the white folks based off their country of origin. For example, try bringing home a Cathy O'Mally to Grand ma Poggioreale's Sunday dinner and just watch the eyes roll and the whispers dart around the table.
