Im very shocked he was fired. Good thing sharpton was there though. He was talking about how the white man was the devil a few years ago ..... there is nothing wrong with that though. Last I checked there is a war going on. Who the heck cares about what someone says on a radio/tv show. 95% of the public doesnt.

Becides the foolish people that are standing up and saying this was horrible ...there are some educated people who are also saying its horrible. Those same people think anything of this nature is horrible.

Others are trying to get their 2seconds of fame in for the month.

Agreed. There are people of all races that make it difficult to get along. How do you expect respect and equality for your race when you turn around and bash another? You reap what you sow….

what do you call a black politician?

a n***er.

in america there is freedom of speech, i can go outside and scream "F BLACK PEOPLE" and nothing would happen, maybe a few ugly faces.

BUT, freedom of speech ON TV is not freedom of speech. It is freedom of speaking as long as you are within standards of the network broadcasting it. This is why Imus was fired.

He can be racist all he wants, just not on tv.

(EDIT) Btw im not racist, my bestfriend is black, im married to an asian, my bro in law is a cuban, and many other relations, lol..

But they didn't get all worked over it. There was no yelling, they had a news conference and appeared on some shows, that's it. They mantained great composser and conducted themselves very ladylike.

As a black female, it is offending to be called a "nappy headed ho", shoot I'm offended if someone calls me a ho. Though I'm know I'm far from one. He bluntly disrepected them, ON AIR. So everyone talking about free speech, yada yada, I'm sure he signed a contract as far as content for the show, and calling someone a "ho" probably isn't listed as cool in it. He's a freaking political whatever whatever, why is he talking about women's basketball??

Pesonally I didn't take the remark as racial, but the ho part was way to far. That however doesn't mean I love having my hair called nappy, but that didn't bother as much as the "ho" deal.

In my closing remarks, the producer should have also been fired also as he said "ho" first on the air. There's no way I would work for these two when I felt like every time I had to be in their presence, they thought I was a "ho". I realize that you guys may say losing me wouldn't lose anywhere near the amount of money that losing Imus and his producer would, but if most of the women in that company pulled together and sued then what.

yeah i used it, but i thought about it and meant it. i don't use the "h" or the "b" word too often, and I use it as a unisexnot just for women. Also I don't uses racial slurs because they're totally disrepectful, supposedly he also called them jiggaboos (sp?). I heard that he said that on my morning radio show, but I didn't hear him say it on the news. IMO, you don't call someone a "nappy headed ho" and not mean it, that takes thought. He wasn't even angry at them, they did nothing to him.

I think in relation to what other people say on tv and radio ... it wasn't about the comment. The comment was made and sharpton and rev jackson started to get loud. The stations wanted to get rid of imus and use it to their benefit.

Regardless of how Mr. Sharpeton and Rev Jackson reacted, Imus said it. Period. He said something he should've have said. Sure Mr. Sharpeton pushed hard for his firing, but those companies have to condsider what keeping Imus would have done to their own rep and how their female, especially black females, would feel working there. How would that look to keep someone around that called some girls that he didn't know "nappy headed hos" on air. These girls were just playing basketball, everyone can run around looking like Candace Parker or Diana Tarausi. Yeah some girls look "rough" when they play, but they're playing ball not modeling.

Since Imus was fired for calling a group of women ho's, I want to see all the rappers/hip hop artists/musicians of all kinds to be reprimanded as well.

Equal opportunity my ___. Al Sharpton even said the only reason he doesn't mind the hip hop community saying it, is because it's "their poetry".

Guess what. It's still ____ing wrong.

It is different in the way of they come with "explicit content" stickers on their albums. I still don't like it when rappers use it, but they do come with a warning. Now if Mr. Imus gets his show on Sirius/XM then he can say what he'd like. It's like Howard Stern, he basically comes with a warning label now.

there is only one absolute in this whole bunch of crap.

"If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything at all."

If we all followed that, there would be a HECK OF A LOT LESS PROBLEMS in the world.

But when you call people out directly like in these lyrics ....it doesnt matter right?

http://www.lyricsandsongs.com/song/792689.html

"I done been around the world, been around the block
Been around hoes that fu**ed Biggie and Pac
Like Vida Guerrera, a$$ took her to the top
She'll give you some brains, you let her throw up the Roc
Let her put on your chain, she'll throw you some co*k
Picture that, like Megan Good and Jamie Foxx
Hype said "It's a wrap", she still on the set
Puttin' oil on her legs, like she Gloria Velez
She was eye candy in the Double XL
Hopped of the page and on the skateboard with Pharrell
I knew she (wouldn't get far)
'Cause five hundred dollars can't get you that (far)
How you get that (far)?
And all these new video bit***s tryna be Melyssa Ford
But they don't know Melyssa Ford drive a Honda Accord
She a video vixen, but behind close doors
She do whatever it take to get to the Grammy Awards "

Classy right? What does sharpton think of that? Oh wait ... ..... who knows.

"Forget the double D's, I put 'em right in your face
Like that model b***h De Cara(?) "

Did she get two tests with D grades?

I never said saying stuff like that "doesn't matter". It erks me as a female. And again I say when you by The Game, because that's who you quoted, you already know what you're going to hear. I don't buy him because I had yet to hear him rap about something empowering or valid.

Civil activist speak against these stuff all the time, but it's harder to go after them considering they come with the whole sticker warning. Basically don't buy them if you don't like them. If it was really okay then the uncensored verion would play on the radio. But it's not, however that what the listeners that listen to The Game and other rappers like him want to hear. Also the mainstream media doesn't report on the effort to stop the n, h or b-word. Do you read JET magazine, look at BET news??

I'm done on this subject; the whole thing is over and Imus will probably have a Sirius/XM show next week. If made himself look like a fool and that's that.

In the same way that you don't have to buy the cd if you don't like the artist, if you don't like the DJ, don't listen. The sticker doesn't mean crap when it comes to what they can say. All it does nowadays is block out part of the packaging art. I've seen kids 12 or 13 years old buying cd's with the ever so helpful warning label on it. It doesn't do anything, nor does it give someone the right to verbally attack another.

Sames goes for "if you dont like imus dont listen" - thats exactly my point.
