This probably won't fit the $500, but why not take a weekend road trip to FL so you can take her to Sea World to see live dolphins?

wow thanks for all the responses. I forgot she is 19 im 21. It doesn't have to be dolphins thats just something i threw out there all though i like this one. Im sure she would to but don't know if its something she would wear all the time though. What do you ladies think...this or just jewelry that can be worn whenever?

We were gonna take a trip to fl to see a live dolphin show but i ended up finding one at the baltimore aquarium about 3 hrs from us and suprised her with it. We got to go back with the trainers after the show and actually feed them and all that crap real sensitive i know...but its not about me its about making her happy.

Like someone refered to earlier she is one of those girls who doesn't expect anything at all she would much rather just spend time with me but i really want to buy something just to show here how much she means to me.

tennis bracelet (from someplace you can get an extended warranty and diamond cleaning etc). OR like seattle dave said a nice camera or ipod if she doesn't have one. or a small present + ask her if she wants to donate to her favorite charity
or a weekend in nyc
or take her shopping

keep it simple, keep it classic, and always thoughtful =)

damn $500 for a girlfriend?? This is exactly why I don't have one.. I'm sure you'll find out something nice, although giving here 5 benjis in a hallmark would work just as well.. Or you can get her a little louie with that money..

I would probably have to spend the $500 on a new hood for the tc.. thats the only girl I care enough about right now to spend money on (except for my two sisters and my mom)..

My girlfriend is spoiled rotten! She is the only child of two wealthy lawyers from Silicon Valley. They're millionaires! They have 3 houses and 2 boats (one is a 40' yacht that sits in the San Fran Bay). My girl gets everything she wants. She's never had a job in her life. So like I said, she's spoiled. I, on the other hand, am the total opposite. I have had a job since age 12 and pay for everything on my own. I am currently working and going to school full time. For Valentine's Day I got her a $50 bracelet, sent her flowers and chocolates from 1-800 Flowers, and took her out to a nice dinner. It was perfect! I think that's what you should do. Find her a nice bracelet, earrings, or necklace. I would suggest something other than diamonds, maybe like Onyx or Pink Sapphire. Send her flowers to her work if possible, otherwise to her house. Don't take them yourself, send them. Then dress up real nice and take her out to a nice restaurant. Make sure you make her feel like a princess. You don't need to spend lots of money to do that. Honestly, there isn't a difference in spending $200 and $500. The reaction will be the same and she's still going to love you to death. It's seriously the thought that counts. Oh... a card is nice too. Write something really mushy and lame, she'll love it.

i love this necklace even though i'm not into dolphins. i definitely think silver is the way to go unless you know she likes to wear gold. i actually like the other dolphin one exactly like this one but the otehr one is diamond studded. soooo pretty.

my BF got me this awesome Guess watch that has diamond like stones all over it and the links are hearts and its something i wear everyday and I love it because everytime i look at it I think of him. he didn't spend a fortune on it (and he didnt have to) but it made a big impression on me. I think anything that you give her will be fine as long as it comes from the heart and she knows that you thought about her.

If the guy makes plenty of money for her, and is never going to lose his job or fall on hard times, then i'm sure it'll work fine.

I just know normal couples will argue about money.
I have a woman who i met when I had zero money. Then I got a good job, stock options, etc... and everything i would have later was bonus. As time went by, my new usual amount of money became the bare minimum i could make.

If this girl would be truly be happy with a 10 year old car, having to get a demeaning job to help support the couple, then she's a good one to keep. I just see lots of nagging in the future for this guy.

If we're not taught humility growing up, then we should later impose it on ourselves to "learn it". Or we can just be selfish and spoiled.

they are young and dating.. not like every one you date is a potential person you will live with for the rest of your life. it's jus a gift for special occasion and people seem to act like there should be a limit on what people should do for each other at a certain point.

Keith, hope she likes whatever you end up getting her. You would know her taste best, don't listen to the cheap people. (=

if she's well aware of her situation, and knows she's just lucky to be there, then fine. But like most people, I'm sure she feels she deserves even more than their situation.

I'm not running away. I think I have it pretty good. My girl is in school right now. She's a year away from graduating with a major in psyc. On top of that she is taking mortuary science classes and plans on continuing school after graduating so she can become a mortician. I know... sounds creepy. I have a great job that pays for my school. We usually split things half and half. In June her parents are taking me to Hawaii and after that I'm taking her to Vegas, so it goes both ways, even though I think I got the better end of the deal on that one. Yes she is spoiled, but she's a sweetheart. She's also well aware that she will be the bread winner for a couple of years until I graduate. She is well aware of the situation. The reason I mentioned all of that stuff before was to help this kid realize that it doesn't take a lot of money to please a girl, even if she is spoiled. They mostly want attention and to feel loved, and maybe occasionally some diamonds .

You're right. That's what us women want, someone that cares and loves us. If she complains when you're obviously doing your best then she's not ra real women, she's a gold digger/hoe/whatever esle you want to call it. But then alot of guys cheat on the good ones, and then this turns into a whole another topic .

See not rich, her parents are.

I really like the neckalace with the dolphin on it BTW. But I really like the idea of sending her flowers and taking her out to eat. If you get the necklace I suggest givin it to her after the entree.
