360 can only play 1080p HD-DVD movies (with the extra add on) but all their games max out at 1080i which is fine with me until I get my bigger tv since 1080p is worthless unless you have like a 50"+ tv. (I have a 37" lcd hdtv)

 

lot of money to spend for marginally better picture quality.

One thing to rememebr too...The GAME you are playing has to have the 1080P technology as well...and from what I heard from a sales person at EB Games, there was only one that supports the 1080P on the PS3. You aren't going to see a major difference in most games yet.
I don't know how true this is. Also, this is the next wave for gaming, so just because there may only be one title that was released that supports 1080P, this is where the gaming is going in the near future.
