Default No Interest Credit Cards

Well, I just paid off over $6000 worth of debt. Im feeling really good knowing that Im finally out of the hole.

But I do have a few cards with small balances on them of like $200-300 which I dont think I will be able to payoff soon. I wanted to see if I could find a 0% Interest Balance Transfer card to move the balances on those cards to one card.

Any suggestions?

I get offers in the mail on almost a daily basis. Try Capital One or Citibank. They usually offer 0% interest for 6 months or a year.........

Depending on where you are in life, it might just be better to keep the cards and slowly pay off the balance. If you're looking to make any big purchases soon and your credit score is going to be needed, then I'd keep the cards. It can actually negatively affect your credit score to cancel cards. I have a bunch of smaller cards with no balance on them, but because I'm going to be buying a house soon, I don't want to cancel them. I just spend a little here and there on them and pay them off every month. Once I get a house, I'll get rid of them, but for now, I need every point I can get on my score.

I had a bunch of money in my savings which I was planning to use on something else + my tax returns + actually having a good job and not being a broke-___ college kid = a few months.

I figured that it was best to pay the cards off (that I racked up the debt on because of school) so i wouldnt be hit with anymore interest.

Paying off the balance does not mean the cards need to be canceled. Just stick them in a box somewhere so you're not carrying them around and be tempted to make a frivolous purchase. teamben158 is right though, but there is a fine line. Too many open accounts, regardless of balance are almost as bad as not having any.
http://www.creditcards.com can help you find a low or zero percent card.
Bankrate.com is always a good source of info too.
Just don't screw up and miss a payment, or even be late with one, ANY one. Lots of issuers have clauses now that can jack your interest rate up to the defaults, even if it was another card or even a utility bill that was paid late.

Yeah, Im not saying I want to close any accounts. I was asking if someone knew a good card that I could balance transfer over my small balances from other cards into one card, in order to make it easier to pay them back.

But thanks for the link, Im going to check it out.

True true true my credit score is not as high as it should be because I have gotten too many forms of credit in one year (thanks to those student loans)
