I say fight it. You didnt do anything anything wrong. You saw lights. If i see lights i assume i'm getting pulled over. So go see the judge. I call bs. Tickets get stupider and stupider these days.

No... just verbally. All the ticket states is "disreguarding an automatic signal."
You may have issues then. The cop does not want to look like an a$$ in front of the judge, and if it comes down to it, may say, "your honor, I didn't see a fire truck. Now that I think about it, I should have taken him in for suspected drug use as well."
Unfortunately, you are so right about what the cop can say...but, this may all be academic...the cop may not even show up in court.....

Wow. Yeah, except there were four other people in the car who saw what happened. probably figured since there were so many of us that we were joyriding or something.

Well, here you guys go. I went to court and lost. Judge hated to say "guilty" but said that either way i ran the light. God, i hate this state. The system fails again.

i had to pay $150.00 and a $4 fine. $150 is the court fees, so apparently they either included the cost of the ticket into that (which by itself was 150) or they only charged me the court fees.

Did you get the points reduced at least?

That's f-ing ridiculous. The system definitely did fail again. Sorry to hear you lost to the stupidest ticket ever written.

Oh damn, I just read the 6 points part... Whoops. I would have begged the judge to let go of the points if he wasn't gonna back out of the full ticket.

It's hard to actually get out of a full ticket unless you have another cop working on your side. That's why I usually just ask the judge to drop my points, and I'd still pay the fine. They get their money, so they generally don't care about points.

Your insurance is going to skyrocket, by the way.
