Jason Whitlock hits the nail on the head with this... Definitely only a black man can get away with writing this and it having any type of hopeful impact on the population.

I completely agree with him and am sick of seeing everything else but the real problem blamed for this.

 

That was an amazing article. It took guts to write that and I'm sure (just like Bill Cosby) he will catch a ton of flack from the black community for calling it the way he sees it.

 

That was a great article....just in the wrong place to have it....in the sports section.....bad place to have it.......it should be in more of a front section area

I have a question after seeing some other people's insights about this article online.

So someone posted this about the article... "Charles Barkley, as well as Bill Cosby have come under fire for having alot of the same sentiments and expressing them as well."

My question is why does the black majority not like when they speak out like this?? They are only trying to help and open some eyes. i don't get why they get upset?

If anyone her is kinda on the fence about this and think he may be wrong do yourself a fav. Sit down turn on A&E and watch "The First 48". Yes I said it a damn TV show. I watch this show almost4 times a week because its real and not about this damn celebs. AFter watching this show I have seen pretty much every show and I can say that 9 out of 10 (100 plus shows) are black on black crimes or the murder is a black male. His article is correct and my feeling is hey if they don't wanna change don't bring down the next person who does. GREAT article and very true because I know if a white man would have wrote that they would fire him and thrown the book at him....

 

Society did a 180.

It used to be Whites can literally murder a black and get away with it. Now it's the other way around. Blacks are untouchable. However, the race card is slowly losing its effect.

 

People also don't want to hear the truth about reality.

Facts:

7 out of 10 blacks have no fathers
1/2 of those with "fathers" are step dads
1 in 2 black girls will have her first baby before the age 18
2 out of 5 black men have either been arrested or have a record by their 18 b-day
3 out of 5 will graduate high school
1 out of 5 high school graduate go to college
1 in 10 who go to college will get a college degree
9 out of 10 crimes on blacks are committed by a fellow black
8 out of 10 AIDS cases reported are from the black community


Now think about this for a minute. If a Black person were the one to report those facts, the majority of reactions would be of "pity" and "compassion". The messenger would be applauded or even seen as a hero for "acknowledging" those facts.

Now, If a White person were the one to report those facts, he or she would be labelled a racist, bigot, ****... the whole 9 yards. The next step would then be to dismiss those facts. The next automatic reaction would be to challenge where those facts are from. They will then say that the institution they got it from is wrong. Now if those numbers are from a black organization, the next reaction would then be to blame Whitey.

Whitey is always at fault.

People don't like a topic that makes them uncomfortable. People are mostly uncomfortable because their ideas are not of that of the mainstream.

Most people nowadays are cowards when it comes to speaking out. Their main concern is not to look "uncool" and not to go against "the norm".

 

I bet you that sooner or later, I'm going to be called a racist for stating those (ugly) FACTS.

But I bet you I won't be called a racist if I state (ugly) FACTS about how racist White folks are.

Racism goes both ways. However, there are many narrow minded people who have been brainwashed to think it's only one way.

It's easier to call someone a name and sweep it under the rug than it is actually deal with it.
