not sure where to post this but i kinda wanted to voice a concern to my fellow scion lifers...

i purchase a lot of products on ebay, and there is a specific section where i leave feedback ON EBAY.

as i was reading various reviews on the parts forum... i noticed a bunch of people talk about personal experiences that they recieved and visual aspects of their purchase. and it kinda bothers me because if your product has scratches on it, and you mark a 1 star as appearance rating, it drops the overall score of the product, and the normal glancer will only see the low scores and not read the reviews.

i paraphrase one of the reviews that i noticed...

I just bought my product off of ebay... it cost me soo much plus shipping, fast shipping and i installed it in 3 hours. No instructions. there was a scratch on it, but overall it looks really cool. i chose this becasue of its color options, and price... i am very happy with it.

now, with all that being said their ratings were extremely low. appearance was 1 star, installation was 1 star, overall was like 4 or 5 stars (so high) but the overall rating was like 2 and a half rating. all because whoever wrote the review judged their product on an ebay experience, and specific flaws like a scratch on their finish....

UHMMMM if you thought the product was cool, give it a good review, if you think it looks cool, give it a good review. but if you ahve a stupid problem like a scratch or a piece was broken on it... leave it out of your review... the manufacturer doesn't make the product with a scratch already on it.

I hear you man, I know what you are talking about.. I have seen this too and share the same gripe as you do.. I never thought to post it however, I am glad that you did and now know someone shares in my frustration.. I always thought that if you leave a review it should be as honest as possible, however most people dont think that way they feel that they are leaving an honest feedback towards the seller for the rest of the interested population to read.. Hense IMO that is what feedback is for not product review..

If you are that **** about a product having a slight unnoticable scratch on it then IMO people shouldnt be buying things off of ebay then they should go straight to a store or to the manufacturer itself
