Rental Car Fiasco - Drivers not on Policy? Advice pls!
Preface: Sorority Convention
Situation:
So I get a call from one of my sisters that she's been trying to rent a car for 5 hrs but her debit card won't take the charge and rejected it because she's out of state and it was a lot of money. I go to help her out and rent the car for her. She pulls the car out and scrapes another car (I was not in the car with her). We had to fill out a incident report form. Go back in to get a new car. The guy tells me that she wasn't ON the policy since I'm under 25 and can't cosign a driver and the extra insurance we purchased would have only been good for ME since the car was under my name.
WHOA pause hold up, now that lady that put the paperwork through KNEW the car was for her. She did NOT tell me that she wasn't putting my sister on the policy. She was LOOKING AT HER not ME when she was mentioning all the details of the car rental.
If I KNEW she wasn't on the policy I would have filled out the incident report in my name because the manager had NO clue about anything.
So am I screwed and probably going to have to pay (or make my sister) pay for the damages? Or what do I tell the claims department if/when they call?
The counter lady's reply to Me not knowing my sister wasn't on the policy was, "Well I told her everything". W - T - F
Advice please!
The weekend fiasco begins!

Oh man. I really hate to say this, but I think you're screwed. If you aren't 25 yrs old or older, than your sister couldn't be driving a car you rented. I know how you explained it, but unfortunately, the paperwork will spell it all out it writing. Sorry, dude.
