Its all BS both McSame/Failin & Obama yo Mama are all beauty queens (ugly ones) they pander to whoever will listen... Its like Miss America and the calssic "world peace" question.... Sounds good, but dont mean shizznit... Life will roll on and politicians will continue to screw this country until heads start to roll... /end political rant
Politically, I think heads are rolling. I think we're going to see what a leader Obama is when he turns on the lights in January.
I have a feeling he'll be a lot more than he says and it will all be good.
I'm nearly 50 and I haven't felt this good about a politician since the Kennedy brothers and I was just a kid then.

Well, I don't think Obama will live up to the height; some of his proposals are on the pandering side and simply can't match up. He says he'll help Detriot re-tool for alternative fuel vehicles, which will most likely be done through tax credit for capital improvement, but at the same time those funds will need to be made up for elsewhere, possibly from an end to tax breaks for companies who outsource. The question is will this include foriegn-owned companies, like Toyota or BMW, who have US plants but oversees designers.
I'm worried the increased burden will cause them to cut corners on quality, lowering them to US manufacturing standards without dropping price. Either that, or they'll pull out of the US and have everything made in China, another loss of us. I'd rather see him answer the pension problem US companies have, and hold their CFO's accountable for raiding pension funds over the years so that now for every Ford bought, $1635 is tacked on for retiree healthcare funds and $350 to still pay workers while production lines are stopped.
Still, it's better than McCain's solutions of keeping bank markets unregulated and extending corporate tax cuts while still paying for Iraq and underfunding No Child left Behind (while Exxon has again set a record for net profit of any company in history today, $14.83 Billion, and this is all profit, not net sales). I'm sorry, but you can't keep spending and not adjust taxes. His spending "reductions" to eliminate pork spending is a nice gesture, but ignores that some pork is justifiable, especially for things like interstate commerce and commercial air travel safety. The key is to funnel the money to where it does the most good, and not for bridges to nowhere or memorial gardens. I'd like to see public works funding needing clearance from a technical authority instead of a politician, we engineers can't be any more boring than the CSPAN senate sessions already are.

NOBODY can do ANYTHING better than WE can in the USA. We just have to want to do our best, instead of "good enough".

Smith: Now that the election is over, Carl, tell us more about those reports of infighting between Palin and McCain staffers.
Cameron: I wish I could have told you more at the time but all of it was put off the record until after the election. There was great concern in the McCain campaign that Sarah Palin lacked the degree of knowledgeability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, and a heartbeat away from the presidency. We’re told by folks that she didn’t know what countries that were in NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement, that being the Canada, the US, and Mexico. We’re told she didn’t understand that Africa was a continent rather than a country just in itself ...

South Park was brilliant last night.
Oh, this just in... Sarah Palin was unsure that Africa was a continent... she thought South Africa was just the southern part of the country Africa. Wow.
Also, if Ted Stevens is reelected and booted from congress, Palin might potentially take his place, scary thought.

Just out of curiosity, am I being seen by the "powers that be" as attacking or just discussing? I'm trying to be a bit more elegant than "LOL SOCIALISM KISS AMERICA GOODBYE", but I get carried away.
you know those pretty girls in school, that just sit back and look pretty, but there is nothing upstairs?
that's the kinda girl she is, and i believe McCain embarrassed himself by chosing someone who only knows small town politics.

in what way?
and you realy think she will get the electoral votes?!
she was ill prepaired for any interview, questionair or speech i saw her give.
sure 2012 is some time away, but I dont think she will refine herself.
she is a governor, she hasnt or I havnt seen or heard of her doing anything in the senate to even give her a plausable foot in the door for becoming president.
people like McCain and Obama stand better chances, because they have been senators for years and they do have the expierence.
