ScanguageII help
anyone with a scanguage II can help me. I dont have my manual here, it's at my apt in PA. well I filled up today and tried to reset the gallons and price, but somehow screwed it up and now it says Im getting 200mpg. So i put the defualts back on and put everything for the box except tank size, I cant figure out how to do tank size and it still reads 200+mpg.
help please.
help please.
Make sure you set the fuel type to GAS and set the engine size properly. The fuel tank size setting won't change your MPG, only the miles-to-empty and hours-to-empty readings. It should be set to your tank size, rounded down to the nearest setting.
Oh, and make sure your speed is calibrated properly. Most cars read out about 2-3 MPH faster than actual speed. You'll need a GPS to get a true reading.

Also, with the SG2 you can use the x-gauge function to create an average fuel economy reading in "gauge" mode. The MPG reading in gauge mode is "real time" which is useful for certain things, but I have found trip-average MPG to be much more useful. I don't have my SG2 with me, but I'll post the x-gauge codes for creating an average MPG gauge.
Lol I figured it out, Im not 100% on how I did it, but I works perfect now.
yeah I have it as gas and I calibrated the SG was off 5mph from my actual speed.
Thanks mcbrew and eltaco
