That tc acatually looks really well done. If i were law enforcement, I would so do that and add sirens. Man, there would be no traffic hour for me. Its well modified. The car of course. talking about the side view.

 

I think the intent is more an xB driver hating on a "ricer" (the lights) tC driver. (i.e., nice car, stupid driver). i did pick up on a small joke about the value of the tC that no one mentioned.

i always thought RICE was an anacronym for "Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancement", meaning a part that was added that "looked" like an actual race part but actually wasn't one and did nothing to enhance performance. i never thought of it as related to the starch rice as related to asian consumption. every race/ethnicity has "ricers" and each country's vehicles can be "riced".

imo, it merely means adding pointless wings, stickers, fart can mufflers, turbo decals with no turbo, whistles that make turbo spooling sounds, etc. it has nothing to do with the asians who also do it.

 

Wow people, I'm starting to think most Scion owners DO consider the term "ricer" offensive. At least it would appear that way; how fast you all got so offended by this cartoon. If you go back and look closer at the cartoon it seems to be more of an exaggerated commentary on Scion and their general marketing scheme. Specifically, the way they market their cars to teenagers as "cheap and affordable", but before the first-time car buyer leaves the showroom he/she's added another $5,000 worth of Scion "accessories" to the final cost of the vehicle. The key part of the 'toon is the "nice car, stupid owner" comment. Yeah, the tC is a very nice car, but this kid had recently left the dealership with the "15 thousand dollar" base price fresh in his head, even though he owes another $5,000+ for accessories on top of his miserable credit score... Thats all. I've never read the magazine, but if anything, this article is by no means making fun of the tC owners who can afford their cars, just the kid's who walk into the Toyota dealership thinking of the low, advertised price of Scions and walk out with a car loaded with enough "accessories" to put it in the next tier of base car prices. I mean seriously though, neon lights inside your car as an option? You gotta expect to take some crap for that Scion...
