Default Seriously people! Are we that fat?!

Ok, ok. I hear about it all the time, but I really didn't think we were getting that fat as a culture, until today. I went to the "Gear" section and was looking at the t-shirts. I don't need a XXL, but I noticed that they're sold out. What the hell! I can understand not having L or even XL, but XXL?! Stop eating people! Haven't you seen "Supersize Me"?

Did you see the film on the lady who ate McDonalds every day for a month and paid attention to serving size and nutritional facts? Yeah she lost weight and was healthier than before she started. Don't watch some one-sided film and sing its praise without seeing the other side.

I think it's really pathetic that you have to put down people bigger than you to make yourself appear witty and happy.

You must be either:
A.) Jealous, did you get dumped by someone for a bigger guy?

B.) Anorexic or Bulimic, maybe even Muscle Dismorphia

or

C.) An A-hat...

Funny stuff indeed but....
Some people are just big not fat. I'm 6'3 250 and could wear at skin tight 1xl but why. Besides, truly "fat/obese" people where 3xl or larger anyhow. Get your facts straight before you shoot off your mouth.

You're all right! My bad! I apologize! I guess it wasn't as funny as I thought. I myself am a big kid. I'm 6'3", 230. I just have a problem with society and how it is becoming ok to be "unhealthy". I guess my opinion wasn't found as funny as I thought it was. If I offended anyone, I sincerely apologize. It just really bothers me to see 10 year old kids developing diabetes due to obesity. We didn't have that problem 10-15 years ago. Again I apologize for the poor topic choice. I guess I just found it interesting that it was only the 2X that were out of stock. My bad.

I kinda figured you were saying it tongue in cheek. I too am tired of seeing the next lazy fat generation stuffing their faces with HO HO's while playing video games.
It should be considered a form of child endangerment and prolly will be in the future if it continues unchecked.
I'm affraid these same kids will be the working class when I'm ready to start collecting my social security. Guess I'll be SOL

I'd be willing to bet that the rate of obesity has gone up since video entertainment took off, and by that I mean things like Atari, PC's, X-box. Although I'd be willing to bet TV did the same thing back in its day.

Just remember, according to the 'norms', Hulk Hogan, Arnold Schwarzenager, Ray Lewis, etc. are all obese, and not only obese, but morbidly obese. So it's probably some skinny guy making the charts, probably the same guy designing coach class seats, because anyone in their right mind would want to be as healthy as a Ray Lewis or the Rock.

Thats the problem right there. Obesity isn't even measured in weight, its off of your Body Mass Index. A healthy BMI is between 19 and 24 I think. Technically, my BMI is 26.9, but I'm 6'1" and weigh 190 pounds. To be "healthy" I should lose 10 pounds, but then I will look sickly. The scales are terribly flawed, and until someone figures out how to fix them, people are going to be told they are obese and all that jazz without it being true.
