You think the Oilers are still gonna win it all with Roloson out? That rookie goalie sure didn't make a good case for them winning with that idiot mistake that let the game winner go in.

The game last night was freaking amazing!

For now, that is all I have to say.

Yep, Roloson is out for the rest of the series. That's gonna make life difficult for them, especially with the depth the Canes have

in that case, its over
wasn't it Rolosons' defenseman who ran into him too?

No, I think the defenseman pushed a Carolina player into him. Almost as bad.

I was hoping Edmonton would have a shot at the cup, but with Roloson out I think their chances are much slimmer now. Especially since Cane's goalie Ward has been absolutely on fire. He made some saves in game 1 he had absolutely no business making. One of the goalies for Edmonton is going to have to step up and be a hero in the remaining games or otherwise it'll be a walk in the park for Carolina. Game 2 tonite should be interesting.

I didn't get to see the game at all (or the highlights yet). Was the obviously disgusting final score Markannen's fault or was it a total team meltdown for Edmonton? I get the feeling that Edmonton has no fire left in their game from having no confidence in either Conklin or Markannen and it is affecting their game.

it was totally not Markannen's fault
poor defense, too many penalties on Oilers part

Carolina had 3 power play goals, had 7 power plays (i think)

the 3rd period is when Edmonton brought out the nasty
but Carolina was just taking advantage of just about every oppurtunity

The mental game is killing Edmonton then........this stinks. This could've been a really good series

I'll definitely be watching game 3 to see if Edmonton pulls off some sort of miracle.

oops, i already posted in the old thread b4 i noticed this one. but yea, loosing roloson will hurt them, but one of thier other goalies (not sure if it was markkanan or conklin) was the #1 goalie in the russian leauge durring the lock out. the canes team play picked up a lot in the third period of game one, and carried all through game 3..... sorry dave, GO CANES!!!!

we'll see how game 3 at home goes for them

FYI, OLN is no longer showing the playoffs
its NBC for the rest of the series

The only reason I'd like to see Carolina win the Cup is for Ward. He's had a phenomenal rookie year and winning the Cup would be the perfect finish.

They pretty much switch networks after the first couple of games of the Stanley Cup final every year. The networks know there'll be a bigger crowd watching then and that's when the bigger networks pay bigger bucks for the TV rites. Even my NHL Center Ice package doesn't carry anything after the 1st two rounds of the playoffs. I'm just glad OLN picked up this season since ESPN flaked out on it.

And yeah, Melrose is funnier than hell but I like JD too so it works for me.
