I'm all for it. My Girlfriend's an Interior Designer, and might go back to try and get her Masters in Architecture, so I told her if ever we're Married and have Kids, I'm more than happy to stay home. Haha'.

I don't think there's anything wrong with it. In this economy it can make sense. I have always felt that it's better to have one of the parents stay at home than to send the child/children to daycare. If the dad's job isn't great (or if he's unemployed) and the mom has a good job, it makes sense.

With that said, I honestly feel it's best for the dad to work and the mom to stay home if it's possible. Maybe I'm just a little old-fashioned, but that's how I see it. There are natural maternal instincs that only moms have. They were designed to raise and nuture children. At the same time, a man needs to work. There is something in the way we are wired that gives us a true sense of purpose and satisfaction in working and providing for our families. Again, I'm not saying that a dad can't do a great job of raising the kids. Obviously many have done a spectacular job. I just feel that, given the choice, the best option is a stay at home mom and a working dad.

But yeah...if the best option available is mom working and dad staying at home, great! Enjoy the time with the kids. It's such a small window of opportunity in their lives.

I wouldn't mind being a stay at home dad* if thats what my wife wanted. But at the same time, I like to work and make my own money.

i see nothing wrong with it but i do agree that a woman should be the better fit im also raised the old fashion way the man does the work and the mother does the home deal..i feel that behind a good man is a even stronger woman that is how a family works
