Social/Political decay and the end of America
I have taken a good deal of history classes in my time, and paid close attention to rise of fall of empires/countries/republics. Every time a culture fell, in history, there were similar social and political decays that eventually lead to their demise. This is not unique to just a few cultures; it is an ongoing event (much like many things is history) that repeats itself. Now relate this to today and our culture. Do you feel that America is falling down the inescapable path to governmental or social destruction? Do you feel a civil war could be a plausible future? How do you feel America will shape itself in the coming future?
Try to take your mind out your normal mindset and view our culture as if you were reading about us in a textbook in the future. Take into account how small our country’s lifespan is compared to human history; do you think America will stand the test of time?
Let me just say this outright, I am not a doomsayer or think the world will end. But, I do feel our country is not invincible to the human condition. We repeat our past mistakes, it is one our greatest faults. At some point America will crumble from the inside, it is only a matter of time.

finacially it'll be china>US>india>germany>japan(I see them falling, with china screwing them over stealing and duplicating every technology they have)>UK.
This doesn't even factor in middle east countries like saudi arabia and iran who, in the coming years COULD be superrich because say in 50 years(if they really play their cards right), oil will be like having drinking water if you;'re floating in the middle of the ocean.
The US will struggle to hold onto software/engineer dominance. We'll probably be run by even more religious freaks, and we'll tranform america into the new holyland hoping some god will rise us above power problems, drinking water shortages, transportation problems. In a last ditch effort, we'll probably fall back on farming for export, metal production, etc...
IMO, the only way we can not fall into this, is if China and India really fall in the next 20-30 years. Or we secrettly wipe out their populations with disease and flood their markets with counterfiet money, causing a massive depression(like the ***** almost did to the england). I can see China falling on it's own, after they take their money off of ours(which is all about us oweing them money, btw).
But India? 300+ million college educated people right now. Sure their economy sucks now, but really it can only go up from where it is. Hopely Pakistan and India nuke each other's cultural centers and send each other back 50 years.

More evidence:
The athletic department [of Oklahoma State]borrows $20M and buys $10M life insurance policies for 28 elderly alumni, paying the $357k premium for each.
When each one of those alumni die, the insurance company pays the holder of the policy (OSU) the $10M payout, adding up to $280M for the group combined.
The life insurance company takes those premiums and invests them to where they make more than the money they're eventually paying out. Where do they invest them? Well, if history is any indication, it will probably be with T. Boone Pickens' hedge fund, further enriching Pickens.(he's spearheading this whole thing)
OSU calls it the "Gift of a Lifetime" program.
Everyone involved goes to hell.
