Default subaru wrx (reg) for $21,900 a good price?

i am going to trade my tc in for the wrx if i can get them down to $21k and if they give me at least $16k for my tc. i was just wanting the opinions of fellow SL'ers to see if it is a good deal. oh btw the wrx has 23k miles on it and i have 21k miles on the tc.

I dont know too much about Subaru, but it sounds like a lot of money for a used car. Especially a WRX.

you can get a brand new 07 WRX TR for around $22,000 and a regular WRX for 23,000. Plus there is no way they will ever give you $16,000 for your tC. The most they offered me for my car (05 w/ 15,000mi) was $12,000. Try and sell your car privately and just get a new one.

well lets see...
the WRX has better 4 pot brakes
AWD
Factory warranty for the FI setup
Better handling
and the lsit goes on and on because its a completely different car. If he wanted to go FI he would have made a thread asking about different FI setups and not a WRX.

WRX all the way. I would trade my tC for a WRX TR in a heart beat and I would leave ALL of my mods in the tC except my in dash AVIC Z1

wrx insurance is through the roof. and used ones are most probably VERY VERY much so abused.

My freind picked up a used one, carbon fiber hood, nice upgrades, and in good condition, for around $16,000, but its the previous style, it was like a 2003 i think

yea, its an 06 wrx. i just checked a ballpark figure for the insurance and its krazy. i might just go with a 03 srt-4 instead. its an 03 with 21000 miles all decked out already. the insurance on the srt-4 is cheaper than the tc so........ plus i figure i can get that amount if i sell my car privately.

I agree the insurance is outrageous with that car. If you do happen to go for the SRT-4 just dont be the stereotypical owner that everyone depicts them as.

ps. if insurance is not that big of a deal to you, go for a 04-05 STi which are going for around the same as a new WRX.
