All guns are serious, they're not just fun toys. That being said, I'll get off of my soap box now.

If you want something to just enjoy shooting, you should consider a .357 magnum revolver. It's easy to shoot, easy to maintain, and will fire cheaper .38 ammo that is less punishing, but also .357 magnum rounds when you want to have a powerful good time. If you ever need it for self-defense, it is also a lot easier to maintain and use, without the temper mental operation of a semi-auto. You should expect to pay $500-$600 for any good quality handgun.

I'll MOST likely end up buying a Glock! I need something with some "*****"!

Btw, I don't want a revolver! I want something with atleast 10 rounds ready to go!

i feel you man. shooting is one of the best feelings. this past weekend i shot my first 12 gauge shotgun. i've shot a couple guns in the past and my favorite so far has been the heckler and koch .45 usp. that gun is real smooth and accurate. and the .45 model holds 12 in the clip.

I grew up in Montana and my dad was a licened gun dealer-learning guns and more importantly gun safety is just part of life. I started shooting a .38 special and a .357 magnum when I was about 5 (dad standing right there behind me)-had a few .22s and a 30-06 by the time I was like 8.

Coolest guns I have had-or shot.
Thompson contender, 7-30 waters
Marlin lever action in a 444 (that's right it's supposed to have 3 fours)
300 winchester mag-loaded for elk it kicked really hard
243 with a varmit barrel (you could shoot less than 1 inch groups at 150 yards all day long)
7mm mag-the last rifle I owned before I went to college-nice all around caliber
44 magnum pistol-kicks pretty hard
40x in a 223-professional target rifle-super heavy (not really fun to carry) but with someone who knows what they are doing (like my dad) it could shoot less than 1 inch 5 shot groups at 400 yards

I wish I were that smart. After shooting countless rounds thru an M16 and a mortar, I am pretty hard of hearing. My wife hates that too.

ya really, one of the most unsafe guns, it seems like glocks are the gun that everyone wants when they dont own a gun yet or know anything about them. everyone i talk to hates glocks cause of how dangerous they are.

not necessarily unsafe. Just need to know bout trigger control and keeping ur finger out of the trigger guard. I own a glock and have never had a problem at all.

There is something about them I've ALWAYS liked. I look at other guns like Kimber, Colt, S&W and even Beretta, but there is something about a Glock I like. Maybe it's the color or even the shape. I just can't explain it!

Btw, do you like your Glock and what model is it?

I have the Glock 22 .40 cal. It is very easy to disassemble and clean and has very few parts. Only thing people don't like is it has no external safety. Meaning the only safety u have if ur trigger finger staying off the trigger.

U should look into either a Glock of the Springfield xD. It is a great pistol and comes with LOTS of features. Plus u can get it in .45 and it only kicks like a 9 or a 40. The grip safety is very nice to have and keeps things safe. Cause a kids hand isn't big enough to hold the grip safety and get to the trigger too.

I love my Glock and would only trade it for very few pistols.
