T-Mobile G1
So far, I'm impressed. I received it on Monday and started playing with it after 4 hours of charging.
The battery life is horrible. I was, of course, playing with it once it completed charging. After about 90 minutes of playing with it, the remaining battery life was at about 70% or so. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but it seems applications aren't closing once booted. That means they are running in the background and using up power. If that is actually happening, the hardware is awesome: it hasn't slowed down.
After I got over the 'wow' factor, the phone, after normal use, would be at 60-75% after a day's use. It's not horrible, but ok.
I'm quite happy with the phone. The look is just my flavor (Industrial). The iPhone looks too... pretty... for me. Plus the physical keyboard is great. It took some time to get used to it, but it's working out nicely.
So far, 2 of my friends have played with the phone and upgraded to it... once is coming from a T-Mo Dash. The other cancelled his Helio contract early and is moving back to T-Mo... Not the smartest move... but he really wanted it. We were going to BJs and there happened to be a T-Mo store next door and we went there before eating last night... haha

i personally think that the iphone and g1 are very distinct in their own way. of course, by the shape, many would like to assume that tmobile wanted to imitate the iphone but it has a lot of differences... i know it doesnt have apps capability like the iphone but how many apps can you really waste your money on before it gets old...
the qwerty is a plus tho
but i do agree with you on the enterprise part

I think the phone is sick for what it can do... I dunno about the Iphone but i was able to go on the interent outside my house and in the public not using my WiFi... I like the qwerty keyboard better then the touch screen keyboard. soo I'm Overall satisfied... I also like the Compass Mode that they put in...

Major downfall of blackberries is the design, its to plain, not enough borders, and it doesnt strike any chords. Which is why windows, owns it in pretty much every category, blackberry is like the BMW of cars, sort of, ppl buy it because of the name, it screams business, while the windows is like toyota, better car, engine, but doesnt scream luxury like BMW.
The Blackberry offers a simple interface and doesn't include extras because it's business oriented. It was a tool developed to fulfill a specific need and task.
Once they realized the smart phone market is starting to catch onto consumers, they tried to create a more user friendly phone (8100 Pearl Series). After that, the second phone was released with full keyboard (8300 Curve Series). Now, there new line includes tons of consumer friendly models with new tech and uses. IE The BOLD, STORM, and few other ones. Instead of innovating and captivating the interests of users, they are simply playing catch up to the current Smartphone king (iPhone). Apple is now the third largest cell phone provider in the world... and it has only been in the game for bit over 1 year (or longer?). RIM is simply trying to keep market share and bring in non-smartphone consumers into their product.
The G1 is introducing a platform that can be geared to the user's specific needs once the applications are available. So far, the base set of programs included are enough to keep most users happy. Once more developers jump into the fray, the phone should be able to become as perfect as possible (software wise) to that particular user. The hardware will be the challenge... I'm somewhat satisfied with the hardware. It's decent. I'm waiting for Motorola's Android-based phone to arrive. I was a Motorola user before I switched to a smartphone. I'm hoping they're able to create something that'll get me back.

I'm still ____ed at T-Mobile and Google for this phone. My reason is Those S.O.B's anounce this phone they day after I ordered my current phone (I have an i9 Phone). now my girls is ordering this phone ans she going to rub it in my face that she has the super sexy G1 phone. Plus now I have to see one of the guys at my job playing with his phone everyday. I guess I'm just going to have to wait till Feb to get my upgrade. I HATE YOU T-MOBILE !!!!!!!
