a tattoo is nothing unless it means something to you... i hate when people just go and pick one off the wall...

and smash, is it just the pic or is the ink in your tatoo really, really black? how old is it? it looks very well done.

that's awesome.. glad you're keeping up the "theme" as well. and I completely agree that a tattoo should mean something to you.. that's why i get a little irritated when i see ditzy girls walking around with tribal tattoos right above their butt.. it's like.. c'mon dude, did ya just step out of a girls gone wild video, or what? i thought long and hard about what i wanted.. because it's something i have to be able to live with for the rest of my life. egypt fascinates me and has since i was a child.. i'd really love to study egyptology as a matter of fact. but anyway, getting back on topic yes i agree you should go with something that's important to you, or else you might be hating yourself in a couple years!!

The first one is my family crest. The second one was acually my first tattoo which was messed up but fixed by the artist who did the crest.

BTW, I got my first tattoo when I was 35. :D

sorry overlooked this question before-- the tattoo was very well done, but it was also about 4 days old at the time i took the pic (if you look closely you can see my leg's a bit puffy still around the tattoo) thus the reason the ink still looks very black. it's still nice and black today because i washed it and took care of it as directed and applied the ointment stuff and continue to moisturize regularly. i've no bigger pet-peeve (sp?) than a nasty ol' faded tattoo that hasn't been well kept

It took a long time. I cant see which picture youre reffering to (work filter) but if its my right arm there is over 40 hours in it front and back so far.

Erik Kiefer did everything. I regard him as one of the best on the East Coast.

I took pics of mine last night, the quality isn't real great as I took them myself.

Here's my right upper arm/shoulder, Tribal Sun, full color. This was my first Tat, 5 years ago.

Here's my left arm, my name. This was a stupid tattoo I got when I was younger...a friend wanted to get one and wanted me to get one first so he could see how I reacted. After I got it, he didn't have his I.D. so it was worthless. We went back later and he got his.

This is one I got Saturday. I've always had a thing for tribal art and dragons, but I never found one I liked. I finally found one.

Sorry meng. ..I only have one pic...and it needs to be scanned...I dont like to " show it off" though...In person I dont mind showing it but I dont think I want to put pics on the net. It was a custom drawing ( the original was torn up in front of me when done) I know it sounds paranoid

So far though yhere are some nice ones in the thread.

I'm in my late 30's now, and I have loads of friends who have them, but wish they didn't. Most of them got them when they were younger and thought it would be cool. Now that they are a little older, most of my friends are embarrased by them (again, especially the females). The main problem I see with them is that eventually you're going to get tired of it. But it will ALWAYS be there. To each his own, but I just think alot of people are getting them because it's the "in" thing to do, and most of those people are going to regret it later in life.
Then don't look at them. There was no reason to post that in this thread except to ____ someone off or put them down. Its cool that you don't care for them... but why come to a thread about tatoos and cut them down? Obviously those of us here like them and could care less. Very rude of you
