I was hoping that trailer was for the classic game Rampage.

The way people were running around on the streets, between tall builings with parts of buildings flying everywehre.

^now that's an idea that nobody has expressed yet...that would be bada$$!
it's JJ Abram though, the concept of Rampage is way to simple for it to be a Bad Robot film...it's going to be crazy, whatever it may be

I saw it tuesday night. The movie was 2 and a half hours and it didnt feel long. solid action scenes from the beginning and each action scene just got flashier and intense.

one of my favorite scenese would be the police cruiser/mustang chase. that was really cool.

I want to see it again. I thought they put a bit too many jokes however and the art direction was totally different from what I was expecting.

i.e. literally every other line was a joke in the film. So many jokes this can be considered a comedy rather than action sci fi.

and from the trailers I was expection a serious sci fi movie, and was pleasantly surprised to find out it was much closer interpretation to the cartoons I grew up with in the 80s rather than what was done with movies like xmen and spiderman.

dude they even got optimus primes voice right. I could tell who was narating in the beginning of the film the moment I heard the voice. brings back childhood memories.

I still think they should have somehow gotten Leonard Nimoy into the movie.

Yeah and that's a big deal, you know, with the way people still use cassettes.

They want the movie to look up to date, not 1987. If that's the case, all the robots should be the same vehicle they were 20 years ago, making the movie look incredibly unimpressive.

Even the CD player is passe, but if they use an iPod, Frenzy will just be sitting there.

Oh, and that movie trailer, everyone was ____ed off in the theater that they didn't even give us the name.
i know the sarcasm was there, but you clearly werent thinking through what you said. correct we dont use cassettes. but why turn frenzy into what soundwave was. modify it, dont steal another characters basis.. and on top of that the normal sized devastator and scorponok. not cool. im not hating on the movie, it had great entertainment value. i just dont like how they portrayed those guys. i already knew bumblebee was gonna be kinda messed up. he was never a hard core fighter. but VW didnt want associations to the movie so thats life. now the next movie is suppose to have the constructicons? how are they gonna do what they were known for, form devastator when devastator was already in the 1st movie as a normal person.

I liked the Cruiser/Mustang chase as well, I wished they would've made it a lil more longer though, people in the theatre started clapping when both of those cars came out of the smoke. It just seemed to me to be a bit too short.

I didnt really get the trailer for that movie....most of the people were just like....errr ok w/e.

If they made Bumblebee into a Beetle that would've sucked!!

Seen the movie tonight with some friends. What a movie. One of the best I have seen in a long time! Rarely can movies that long keep your attention for so long but this one sure did. I almost wish you could get the cartoons on DVD or something now. Def owning this when it comes out!

yea, as soon as the robot jumped in the air, transformed into the crusiser in mid air in half a second and went speeding after the camaro, people in the theater had their jaws wide open, that particular portion of the scene was executed really well. I was hoping theyd do a stand off and take off in a drag race or something :D, but than the police chase aint bad either.

yea it was a bit short, too bad one of the coolest scenes in the 2+ hour film was less than 2 minutes long

oi, so it was the original voice actor? Throughout the movie, I was thinking, "wow, they really nailed optimus primes voice dead on".

nope didnt know that

on a side note

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/transformers_the_movie/

..... grr...

looks like those critics rather hate michael bay and over critique and pick apart this film.

funny considering the professional critics bashing transformers seemed to have missed the intent and target audience.

everyone I know that has seen the movie, loved it. and the actual user reviews on the site seem to be the exact opposite of the elite critics bashing the film.

I really think anyone that actually believes the poor reviews on rotten tomatoes by the so called "professional critics" is doing themselves a disservice.

as much as the professional critics bash michael bay as a director, the average movie goer has to admit he has a knack of combining humor with action rolled into a film i.e. bad boys 1 & 2, pirates of the carribean trilogy and now transformers. all of those were fantastic action movies.
