As much as I like GSP for being the best PERSON in the business, and probably the best fighter too (in the weight class, not better than Spider), I really wanted to see the two Matt's fight. Serra missed a chance to silence his critics with that back injury. Right now any of the average to top fighters could hand Hughes loss, because he is so predictable. But I guess to become predictable, you have to dominate while doing the same things, and he did dominate for a long time. I don't think anyone will be beating GSP soon. Not Serra (who I like), not Fitch, not Hughes... no one.

i would like to see bj penn fight gsp. gsp has really picked up his wrestling game and i wonder how penn would do against that.

i thought the fights were great. i think silva should have taken 1 or 2 fights before liddell. i think the nerves and excitement of the ufc might have gotten to him. i am sure there will be rematch at some point though.

I gotta say that I was kind of disappointed with Liddel last night. Yeah he played it smart and won, but I also think he kinda got nervous.

***Spoiler alert for those that haven't seen the fight and want to without knowing what happened(other than the winner)***

After he had Silva rocked and against the cage, he couldn't knock him out. Nothing he did was going to put him down. Chuck started to clock watch and I personally think that should be a penalty. Fight the fight until the horn blows. Yeah I know it's easy for me to say being a spectator, but I've competed in Jiu Jitsu tourneys and you don't watch the clock unless you are getting scared. The last 30 seconds or so when he took Silva to the ground, he simply laid on top of him. He did nothing but eat up more time. He wasn't going to submit or knock Wanderlei out and he realized that so he took the easy way out.

Mind you, I think Chuck is a fantastic fighter and this isn't something he has done constantly so it's not really that big a problem. This is simply personal opinion. Chuck definitely needed this win for mental purposes. Hopefully his next fight he can come back and be more Iceman than he was last night.

I don't think we'll be seeing much of Melvin anymore after his post fight antics. I think we'll be seeing LOTS of Manny. I want to see him and Diaz fight again.

Melvin walked out and flicked off Clementi. Clementi proceeded to do the "suck it" gesture. After Clementi made Melvin tap out, he did the "suck it" gesture over Melvin's head and Melvin got ____ed. He was trying to fight Clementi over and over after the fight was called.

Made for good tv though.

i didn't see the tap either. it was on the other side of the camera. i thought he went to sleep or stopped it early before seeing the tap on the other angle. i am glad that melvin lost. i also thought i didn't see hughes tap, but his was verbal.

Hughes surprised me, I was watching the clock and here was like 11seconds left. I thought he would hold out. I didnt see the ta, but from the other angle you could read his lips. I wish it had of gone another ound, I wanted to see him win. I wanted him to kick serras as$!!

i am the other way around. i wanted to see hughes win and have his a$$ handed to him by serra. serra will never be 100% after the injury he suffered which is too bad. gsp will be able to walk through him and hold the title. i am looking forward to the silva vs henderson fight.

ahh, I cant stand serra. The way he choose to let oneof his fighters hang in the Ultmate Fighter without haveing anyone in his corner to help him, ____ed me off.

I cant ait to see Sylvia and Noguiera (or whatever his name is) fight. I think theyfight in Feb or something like that. Thats gonna be a good battle.
And that has multilpe good cards with lesnar fighting Frank Mir, supposedly!!!

The Silva and Hendo fight will be good, and if Henderson comes out in shape, he might be a formidable challenger!
God I love the UFC!!

I like Serra personally. I think he has quite a bit of knowledge, but just wasn't blessed physically to really be a force. I think if he got his hands on someone like a Chek Kongo, he could turn that guy into a truly dominant force. One thing about the last TUF we saw... Serra and his people can produce winners, cause Hughes did have the better physical specimen. Drago is good, and a hard puncher, but yeah... I'd like to see Serra and his peeps train a smart fighter like Kongo.

And lets be real about it. What chance does Lesnar have against Mir? Mir wrestles real good too, and was the champ. Might last 2 rounds with Mir winning by strikes.
