Default UPS suck much?? (rant)

Honestly I used to lke having my items shipped via UPS until my last three encounters. I enjoyed the fact they gave you updates on your items everyday so you will know if it is delayed or on time. My ingalls rear strut brace that was suppose to arrive today was scheduled to arrive today....well it didn't! It was raining quite hard today I didn't care because i thought it must have been weather related. Well I log onto the UPS site to check out what their excuse is and I see.
06/07/2006 3:27 P.M. THE RECEIVER WAS UNAVAILABLE TO SIGN ON THE 1ST DELIVERY ATTEMPT. A 2ND DELIVERY ATTEMPT WILL BE MADE

This is the same ridiculous excuse they gave me the last three times. The last two were computer parts, now parts for my car. I was home all day from 2:45-now and I saw only one UPS truck go right by the hosue. Not only am I home all day, my mom babysits (yes i live with my mom, im 15) so it is practically impossible for someone to not be able to sign. Now I know what the ugly brown clothes symoblize. Their service which is absolute SH*T

Same thing happened to me a few months back with both UPS and the USPS. The UPS thing was easily resolved with a phone call. The USPS thing I lost a relay for a 1974 Cadillac, cause the USPS said that it wass delivered, I had it sent to my work. I was there from 730 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon on saturdays when it was supposedly delivered. . . sorry to vent on your thread but I know the feeling. I loved it when DHL delivered my Strup exhaust with the bracket sticking four inches out of the box. Or the time when I got my tail lights and the box was basically crushed in three corners. What can you do though. With the amount we spend on shipping and insurance WTF is going on dammnit!!!!

Call UPS up and let them know what is up. I got some stupid postcard that said they couldn't deliver my package to me cause no one was available. That was BS I work in a auto garage and I'm in the Garage all day, I know all three of the UPS guys, and when UPS delivers to my shop they always pull into the parking lot infront. Call them up and tell them what is up. It should at least get somethign moving in the right direction, good luck

Not that you should have to, but you can request a pickup at their facility. I had to do that recently.

Yeah, you could do that but it's such a pain in the ___. It's like ordering a pizza delivered, and them calling you from their car telling you that you have to come outside to the curb to get the pizza. There is always some crazy line. they are always in some seedy location. Man I'm starting to think I should drive to pick up my parts more often. . . I got lucky and I did it with my rims.

I hate UPS with a passion. I've just had too many horrible experiences with them. I've had to go pick up a packages more times than I can count, and I'm convinced the drivers don't even bother knocking if the package is signature required.

yea i paid insurance on my headlight and that usually entitles a signature at the door but the guy left it on the porch and im freakin ____ed that this is lost. I really wanted this done for the show season (not like any judges notice the headlights anyways) and I really miss the nice cut off of the projector...

im goin through withdrawl....

^^ that sucks. I gave them a call and had them call me before and after the package was delivered then I called home to make sure they weren't BSing me again. The most reliable shipping service i dealt with is usps. Never had any problems.
