You'd think. I don't really see anything on that list that would be any more ridiculous than the things that went on in my old school. Seriously.

And we'd never of been allowed to eat Count Chocula cereal at school, lol. Not that it was pointed out specifically to us but considering the list of hundreds of other no-nos, that'd surely of been added if the situation arose.
I am pretty sure most of this is for real. Could you imagine the uproar if thees were an issuse thrty years ago.

These are the same people that think Harry Potter is evil and teaches children how to do evil magic. Logic and reality are lost on them.

That's not exactly the concern. Harry Potter romanticizes wizardry which is viewed as a very ungodly thing. And filling your head with any ungodly thing is a no-no. Think of it like rap. Christians and non-Christians alike don't always like their children to listen to music that glorifies drugs and violence, which are normal complaints about rap music.

Not to say all Christians boycott HP. Nothing is ever that cut and dry.

Well said...and very true. My wife and I are Christians and we enjoy the HP series. We own all of the DVDs that are out so far and we're looking forward to the new movie in July. We understand that it's fiction/fantasy. It's hardly worth getting all uptight about. The fact that I watch Harry Potter movies has nothing to do with my realtionship with God.

Oh I'm not lumping all Christians into the same group. The ones I'm talking about are a small sect that actually believe HP teaches the magic. They are indeed a minority, just like the people that would publish this list. The list is fiiled with things that are a)endemic to all teenagers and/or b) obvious to anyone with an above 80 IQ.

So according to this if I eat a bowl of Count Chocula while wearing my favorite bands t shirt after waking up after only 4 hours of sleep (of which I am mad about) and I go have sex with my girlfriend I am classified as a goth?

Hardly seems fair but EH.....pass the milk.

Yikes, I knew there was a strong anti-Harry Potter movement within the Christian churches but I didn't know some actually thought the books taught real magic. Are you sure? I mean, that's some stupidity for sure!

I'm in the South. There are great people here, don't get me wrong, but there are also some very clueless individuals as well.

I try to remind them: there is no such thing as magic....but then if they can't believe in magic, then their belief system seems to be shot. and I also try to remind them that what HP does teach is about treating people with respect, good over evil, and always do the right thing.....but that doesn't seem to matter. Their preacher told them to hate it, so they hate it. BTW, I've never met anyone that hates it, annd has read it.

Nobody could hate HP after reading it. I think it's impossible, lol.

ROFLMAO

I think I saw this list on snopes.com a while back too. I'll bet most of the PARENTS who have read this list meet 5 criteria for being "goths".

This is one tightly wound over-protective parent.
