i enjoy yelling at stupid officers.. and having fun, intelligent conversations with the cool ones..

man... i remember those good times.... as much as i despise the morons that i had to deal with, i miss being out there.

SquallLHeart I know exactly what your talking about. I was referring to the people that question every job or task given to them. Just use some common sense.

Hey Lil will thats cool man, when i get to Ft.Hood at least we can hang out lol..

hey guys i was thinking about this.. When i'm done with my training and at Ft.Hood i'll be allowed to bring my car, i really dont wanna drive it there and i know military will reimburse me for the gas money and stuff but is there a transportation company that can deliver my car there for cheap i mean like anywhere from 0-300-400 something like that ? or am i dreaming ?

if the military will reimburse you then i would think the military would be willing to ship it. personally, i'd drive it. why?? b/c you make more than you actually spend and the tC is a low car. i wouldn't trust the military to ship a car that low. that said, idk if they'll reimburse you for gas from NY. the Navy (that i know of, as i didn't bring my car to my initial school or base) doesn't pay for you to move your car from your permenant residence to your duty station. they pay for PCS moves; i.e. from duty/TAD/TDY station to duty/TAD/TDY. again i coul be wrong and i know it's not really what you were asking, but something to ask about imo.

if you do enlist a car delivery company to do it, make sure they have the proper bed/trailer to carry your loow car. i towed my car from san diego, ca to miami, fl on a u-haul trailer attached to a u-haul truck. the bumper barely cleared and i was stock height. they may charge more b/c of the low height, not much though. that was 1200 for the truck and the trailer over a 5 or 6 day period.

dont bother getting your hair cut. they are gonna make you pay for a haircut when you get there anyways. unless you just straight up shave it all the way off.

Good luck man. Remember... if the Drill Sergeant asks a question... he already know the answer ;)

hmm. Dont get an attitude with the Drill Sgts. They are there to push your buttons and if you snap at them . . . they get to have fun. Also when it comes time to clean the bays and bathrooms, if it smells clean it must be clean. (Lots of pine oil cleaner)

The best way to get better at pushups and situps is to DO pushups and situps. Also try to go for a run everyday. If I remember correctly you have to do a 1 mile run during reception and you must meet the standard or you will not move on to basic. Once you actually get to basic they will get you in shape.

Also, anything I say about basic may be completely false... it has been about 7 years since I was there. That is my disclaimer.

Good luck man!

The pt standards at basic must have changed then. They expect fat bodies and out of shape people now. It doesnt matter if you cant do a push up or sit ups or run from your refrigerator to your sofa. You will get to reception and do some pt there. Everybody gets pushed to basic unless you have some sort of medical problem occur. In basic is where they will start telling you "if you dont pass the pt test you wont go to ait". I was soooo happy when it came graduation time and this fat a$$hole couldnt pass a pt test. I thought he would get held back . . . nope, right to AIT. As long as you actually push yourself though you will be alright. Might as well start doing some push ups and sit ups and running now though. Get used to doing them.
