I don't do any death metal, but if anyone likes a little bit of everything, check out the songs on my group's myspace. It's more laid back and chill, i handle all the vocals and piano and drums, and my bandmate does the guitar and bass.

Let me know what you think......

Damn I saw this post and got so excited. I love music and grew up in and around the best hardcore scene around. I started off with Gorilla Biscuits, Strife, Earth Crisis, Integrity, Warzone, all those bands from when I was a tike. Now I'm big into a lot of local boys like The Acacia Strain, Diecast, Full Blown Chaos, All That Remains, Hatebreed, and Ligeia not to mention As Blood Runs Black, Misery Signals, Remembering Never, As I Lay Dying, Most Precious Blood, All Out War, Dead To Fall, Glass Casket, Converge, Throwdown, Between The Buried And Me, Poison The Well, Blood For Blood, Scars Of Tomorrow, old Atreyu, old From Autumn To Ashes, Bury Your Dead, Death Before Dishonor, and the list goes on and on. I even listen to a lot of the "screamo/emo" stuff cause that's what my girl is into like Greeley Estates, A Thorm For Every Heart, Silverstein, Thursday, Underoath, Thrice, Funeral For A Friend, Hawthorne Heights, From First To Last, My American Heart, on and on.

Man you get me started on this and I'll go all day. I'm all about this ____e. I'm always goin to hardcore shows in Springfield, Worcester, or Boston cause I think hardcore music, and to a small extent, screamo/emo, has one of the best all around music scenes regardless of whether you're into the music or not. Everyone is so friendly and there is always a community atmosphere to the shows especially since they play smaller venues. Unless of course you get the tough guys who get in the pit and think they're badass. Those clowns don't quite get it and well that's a whole other story.

Those are my favorite guys to come across in a pit. Most of the time(at least lately), it's the dumb kids that are getting into the scene and don't realize that it isn't about hurting someone. They are the people that continue to stomp about when someone gets knocked over or falls somehow. Around here that doesn't bode well luckily. I learned my lesson as a young punk coming up and such(13 years old at my first hard core show) that you gotta respect each other and show some love.

That is a great list of bands. I am a big fan of every single band you listed under screamo/emo. Your girls got good taste.

Exactly. We have a few chicks out here who get in the pits who are tough as nails, but sometimes "outsiders" come in and knock them around and keep goin about their merry way. Not more than a second after that happens do they get swarmed by a bunch of dudes. The best part is that as soon as the bouncers pull everyone off him, he's the one who gets tossed out. Bouncers at hardcore shows are cool ____e cause the club owners have to hire them special cause it's not like a typical concert.

Haha thanks, I'll pass that on to her. She basically lives on Smartpunk and puts me in charge of downloading all of the CDs she sees so needless to say I have quite the collection on my computer.

(and yes I'm a chick lol) To the person that mentioned Kittie... I have a band for you!!!!

Otep WAAYYYYYY better than Kittie, the lead singer chick has this incredibly angellic voice, but she can growl and scream better than most of the "metal guys" out there... absofreakinglutely BADA$$!!!!!!!!! And yes SHE is the one growling, I seen them live in concert on December 2nd at Fletchers in Baltimore.

My fav metal bands are...

Otep, Slipknot, Mudvayne, Spineshank, Nothingface (although they do have some softer stuff), Stone Sour, Chimiara, SOAD (System of a Down), Audioslave, Coal Chamber, Mushroomhead, the list could go on and on lol. Otep and Slipknot are my favs.

Metal is my favorite genre, but I have collections of everything from disco(VERY few disco songs), alternative, classic rock, rap, techno, some country, r&b, etc... etc...

If anyone hasn't heard of Otep and wants to hear a song or two of theirs, feel free to IM me for a sample They EFFING ROCK!!!
