From what I see, the whole debadging thing is a trend and everyone is following. I think its lame, it makes the car look generic.
And seriously, people are stealing the badges? Hot item on e-bay or something?

????

I leave mine on.. but some people just think the car looks better without them, just like painting a car, changing wheels, etc.. has nothing to do with being ashamed or anything like that. So I guess you think painting a car is "lame" too because it is not stock, or is a "trend" ??? That logic is.... well.. illogical

Taking the tC off the back, I agree with fully... It makes my BSP look much cleaner... There shouldn't be a little crome tC to the bottom right and nothing to match on the left...

Now, with that said, I think removing the Scion Logo from the back middle makes the car look too plain... there needs to be some defining midpoint to the rear hatch on the body and it just doesn't look "Right" to me to not have something there... maybe it comes from my VW experience, where everybody was doing this to their Golf and Jetta IV's...

End Result... tC not good... Logo good.

I like the clean look in terms of both clutter on a car, as well as being able to clean/polish/wax.

I told my dealer that if my car had a dealer sticker on it, I wouldn't buy it. Since I ordered it, they never had a chance to put it on. They did put on a plate frame, which was chrome and nice looking, but it only made it a day.

in my opinion it looks better....PLUS i love it when people don't know what i am driving. Just because i love my car doesn't mean i want badges all over it. Also just because i love it doesn't mean i love the name and sh*t like that. I bought the car for the car not the name. I could give a damn about badges. Plus the only reason they badge them up is so people know what you're driving so that gives them business because if they like the car they will go to a dealership and tell them what they seen. Without badges they have no where to start unless the know body styles and what not.

Yes I drive an xB, yes this is a tC thread....so sue me... I just recently de-badged my xB, here's why...

1. It looks smooth and clean in the back (I like that)
2. It was free (I'm low on dough at the moment)
3. It was easy (I'm Auto-Body Challenged)
4. I was bored (It was something to do)
5. All of the above (^)

Here's what it looks like now...

I debadged all of my cars.

Why?

To me it looks cleaner, AND, I'm too lazy to be cleaning the dried wax from in between the lettering w/ a q-tip.

Plus its usually the first I do once I get the car home.

I also look at it this way. Is Toyota or the dealership paying you to advertise for them? I'm not getting paid, so off goes the emblems and license plate frame.

I'm going to have this done soon. My tC is wrecked right now, so while it's in the shop getting a new fender and sideskirt, I'm going to get the rear shaved. I already took off the tC emblem. I'll post up pics/prices in a week or two.

to each their own... why do people get black rims? I don't care for it but hey they like em, so let em rock it.

i put my badge on the front grille. I like it, some people thinking im smoking crack cuz i put it there, others are in agreement with me.

The "Scion" emblem on the rear hatch has holes? In order to make it look clean, you will need a bodyshop to fill in the holes and paint it?

The "tC" is just a simple sticker without any holes?

Also, the only thing you can do to the front "Scion" emblem is paint it black because you can't debadge as there would be holes in the grill?

I removed tC cuz its tacky, but I'm keeping the Scion emblem...cuz at least its centered, but I think I'm gonna get custom emblems made to replace the Scion logos that say tC...it'll be sweet.

I took the tC badge off because I didn't have the money to do any other mods. But I would agree that it makes the car look cleaner.
