I've never picked a car in order to get approval from others - I don't need it, don't look for it, I'm a lot more secure in who I am than that.

And for the SRT-4 over a V6 mustang comment, I'd take a balance of style and pep over a speedy neon any day of the week.. twice.
Ill agree that happens from time to time, but often if I see another tC and wave, I at least get a wave back, a smile, a nod.... ive never seen something like that with ANY other car.

wow, didn't know that much people hate us. My reasoning for buying a tC is that all I need is a good looking car that would take me to resonable speeds. I don't have a lard filled behind that needs 300hp to haul.

That may be first of "The Big Three" to go under, but it isn't the first US marque to "fail" just since I've been interested in cars. Studebaker, Packard, DeSoto, Oldsmobile, Edsel, Checker, International (the name was brought back - different company), plus a seeemingly endless number of "specialty" cars, DeLorean, Avanti (revival of a Studebaker design), etc.

In fact, when Studebaker went out of business we lost the absolute, undisputed, oldest passenger vehicle manufacturer in the country.*

Tom

* Remember the covered wagons from your history classes? Any idea who made them? Those Conestoga wagons, the prairie schooners, were built by Studebaker: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Studebaker

It was a real shame when Studebaker died. They produced some of the most forward-looking, advanced designs, and had many features long before other brands who later copied them.

One thing that makes me question a lot about their thinking, is that they compared our vehicles (s/c or not) to 100% factory performance vehicles (type-s, srt4, svt etc) Even with the OPTION of a s/c the setup in our vehicle isnt meant to be a competing powerhouse, just enough to give it a lil more umph, not a car that can drag others with ease.

even the comparison between the rsx type-s vs the scion, both with bolt ons. Who do you even THINK would win that race?

I am just glad I will never own one with the stupidity that they have.

I just know for a fact, that my old civic beat v8 stangs, svt's, srt4's, and type-s'. And the funny thing is, I spent 1/4th of what they did!

haha these steroid injected idiots go ape-sh*t over the thought of a S/C. their cars, V6's and V8's work better with superchargers than they do turbos. Our cars are meant to be turbo'd if you want power. They didn't even mention anything about turbo'd tC's. All they talked about is the supercharger.

100+ hp increase with a basic turbo
40+ hp increase with a factory blower

that answers it all...

I knew a few kids in high school that some fairly quick stangs. Kinda funny thing happened to one of them. He saw The Fast and the Furious, his mom bought him spray, he wrecked his car.

that thread is so whack. Those muscle guys think their car looks better?? This isn't the 60s...

And as for a mustang beaing fast a stock tc BEATS a stock mustang. Yes even the new mustangs, the stock tc beats the stock mustang.

I hate when people compare the stock tc to an RSX type S and not a stock RSX, and the mustang GT instead of the stock mustang.

They are totally different cars in different price ranges. Stock tc beats the mustang and is even with the RSX. The tC is also cheaper stock. Personal looks can be argued and neither person is "right" regarding that issue...

Wake up and realize that you drive a Ford, which is a terrible company that is going bankrupt for poor quality and ugly cars...
