Ah yes -- the fun of driving in America
My 40minute commute turns into
a hour to hour and a half drive all because some idiot wants to look at the person
on the side of the road with a flat or worse a wreck on the otherside of the freeway.
Keep your eyes on the road in front of you and get the hell out of my way, you slow
poke, rubberneck dumb a$$. Use that right lane -- it was meant for you
Ok all better now -- -- I'm still amazed how the other drivers could not see brake
lights, road flares and a light colored van just sitting there? That chick in the mustang
had to be hurting -- fudge packed that van at speed -- damm!!! Idiots

I have to agree with you moonray I cannot stand when people crash their cars and leave them sitting in the middle of the highway while they wait for the police to show up meanwhile they are blocking all sorts of traffic..
Its like they think if the stay where they are the police will know exactly how the accident happened... Dumba** you got rearended by that fool its cut and dry obvious what happened...
For those of you who are complaining about people leaving their cars as they lay when in accidents and not moving them, you obviously haven't been in an accident. Insurance tells you to leave the car and not move it. And I know from personal experience that when I moved my car in an accident and it was someone elses fault they took his word since he had a witness and it went against me. I agree you shouldn't be rubbernecking I hate it, but your also not supposed to move your car in an accident situation.

The other wrecks would or might not have happened at all. Leaving a stalled vehicle
on a busy road or freeway is just asking for trouble and indangering others lifes.
Leaving a vehicle in the roadway if it hasn't been wrecked is asinine. The interstate I travel to work on has signs indicating to move wrecked vehicles from the roadway if there are no injuries.
These days I think it would be worthwhile for everyone to keep a cheap digital camera in the glove compartment so you can take pictures right away and be able to show them to the police when they arrive. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I agree with not moving the car in an event of a serious accident (e.g. guy run intersection creams you or such.) But on the highway that I travel to go to work each day there is always an accident some ahole talking on their cell not paying attention rear ends some other person and then they just leave their cars sitting in the middle of the lane blocking the highway traffic.. IMO in such a case they should move their cars off the road to a near by parking lot and wait for the police instead of blocking traffic bringing everyone from 55mph to 25mph instanting and inadvertantly creating another accident. On city street or a less frequented roadway I completely agree with not moving your car but on a busy highway that is mall, dealership and restuarant lined if you get rear ended I think pulling it off the road is suggestable..
For serious accidents yeah leave it there. You dont want to make things worse like injuries and things like that. But for regular fender bender ones move it out of the way. There is no need to make an even bigger back up and good possiblity of more accidents because you dont feel like moving your car.
i waited in traffic one time by morgan hill for over an a hour, when we finally got moving and i got to what caused the all the rubber necking, i was ____ED, it was a bush on the east side of the FWY that had caught fire. and since this was a divided fwy we were a good 100 yards away from it, it must have been the burning bush from the bible..............or something. but i was ____ed all the rubberneckers.
