Why is there more well done Xbs then TC's?
This is not meant to offend anybody but here it goes.
Every time I go to any show in cali, I see some xb's sporting some of the best wheels, bodykits and other mods at the whole show. I come from VIP cars and I see all those extrimely expensive parts we use on our Lexii (Junction Produce, Garson, Wald etc.) on Xbs.
When I turn to Tc's all I see is oversized chrome rims, wings, almost stock engine bays Axis, Koing, drop on springs, lousy fitting carbon parts, and a lot of lights without any other mods. To tell you the truth, I am embarrassed for our kind. I can count all the quality TC's on this board and there are somewhere around 10 of them. Nice Xb's are countless. Is there any particular reason why when it comes to modding TCs people are cheap? Then again, maybe I am the only one who sees this.
[/end rant]

Because the xB is chaeper, and has a better following than the tC. "People like JDM" so they buy xB's and call them bB's slap some Equip's on throw on a widebody, and a Greddy SuperCharger then call it a day.
In all honesty, I don’t care much for the "Box" to begin with... No matter how hooked they might be they just don’t look good... I mean after they are hooked up, drop, rims, nice paint, so on and so forth at time they look "ok" but if you look at it from more then 100 feet away, guess what it looks like a box on wheels, the same cant be said about the tC, even at it's stock stages....
You do realize that there is a japanese counterpart for the xB right? Thus the VIP kits, adds to the necessity to purchase wheels and other mods to have the 'VIP' look..which are usually more expensive than your american brands. Hell, even the RX300 has VIP parts for it.
I understand that there are more parts avaliable. I still hold my argument about the wheels though. How come most of them run work and 90% of tc's run crap?
I like boxes but I would never drive one. It just feels like the owners have different mentality.

you try to talk to another tC owner (or even xA) about his/her car... heck... i know most people in my area, they'll just look at you funny or ignore you completely and drive off...
not into the family/community thing...

Yea, thats what I was getting at ...
Well all im saying is that, im going to straight up hate on the box.. lol They make scion look bad, you tell a chick that you have a scion and the first thing she thinks is that you have that retarded box, then you need to further explain to the individual that you have thge nicer Scion, the tC model lol you dont know how many time I have had that coversation with poeple lol....
ya ive had the convo with alot of people... gets annoying after a while
and i have seen some SICK body kits on the xB and wheels and everything, but thats because the age group varies from pimple faced teens, to senior citizens. most tC owners are teenagers, or young ones and cant afford anything better than konig and axis. i mean we all dream of having nice stuff, but just can afford it. plus, sometimes garsons, works, HRE, and the sort just dont look good on our car, the body shaped wast made for it, i mean how many double step lips on a car have you seen do VIP?

It's the type of people who buy each, and not the age of said group.
agree with cuba, people ask what you drive and the word scion comes out of your mouth they assume you drive a box, its frustrating.
but i have to disagree with blackonblack. konigs have been around a while and are a very reliable wheel, plus they have pretty decent styles. i myself run a set of konig trouble's and i couldnt ask for a better wheel to go with the color of my car, i think they are great wheels. im not one to go cheap either, if the money is needed to spend, i spend it. honestly part of the problem with the tc is most of the body kits are not good looking, and the ones that are are f'ing retarded expensive. i dont mind spending, but i dont like getting ripped off either. a couple of those widebody kits are really, really nice, but i cant see spending over 1k for a kit thats not painted and is not installed. 2k for a kit should be full installation, wheel extensions if necessary, so on so forth. its only fiberglass for most of them, no reason for it to be stupid expensive. the supply and demand for parts of this car is allowing these kits to be too expensive. i honestly think the rado kit is sick, not for a DD tC but it isplain sick. the price makes me sick though.

i think the problem with the tc is:
1. costs more so budgets and saving for parts takes some more time.
2. its a brand new car in the market and not all the after market companies have jumped on making nice parts for them and of course the begining of new designed products are always going to have flaws or just plain out look bad because of bad design choice, taste and they gear to the rice boy crowd.
3. AGE! most the tc drivers i have seen here and abroad are younger college students or highschool which their budgets cant afford the best wheels, the best suspsion etc etc. so they have to settle for what there price range can get.
hence you see alot of ricer ___ tc's with crap parts, ugly wheels, bad paint jobs and looking flat out like garbage because they have no taste or havent been exposed to years of this game.
i do have a general rant also with the majority of tc owners in picking bad parts, or cheap parts and doind stupid things to their cars because they are still high off the ricer gas thats floating around. and some people just dont know any better or havent been in the game long enough to know what looks good or what products are best to have for cosmetic or performance reasons.
i myself 26 years old have been in this for a long time 11+ years and have seen alot of horrible cars, (tc's in this case) locally and here on the boards but i keep my comments (sometimes to myself) because some people you just cant change or cant except their tc looks/handles like garbage. if i could give advice to all i would but you cant help everyone. everyone has diferent tastes and theres just nothing that can be done with that. only pray a few of use people who have been doing this for a long time can give examples of good looking tc's vs. the garbage people are coming out with.
ive really only seen 4-5 tc's here really look nice and have had a good selections of parts and just look/perform great.
i think the tc needs some more time in the market before you really start seeing some nice ones and also the aftermarket companies take notice. its only been 2yrs. and i can count on my hand the number of companies that tailor to the tc. if we had more companies to offer more products i think things would be diferent to some degree.
i just wish the tc was 5x114.3 so i can rock my old enkeis and bbr and volks lol wheels. damm you 5x100!! most of the 5x100 wheels are garbage also and the designs that are out now are but ugly!!
it's because most tc owners are young and ricers, not knowing much about what's cool, and what's not cool, and they think that they drive the best car ever made.
xb drivers, on the other hand, seem more down to earth, etc.

More well done xB's because..
Most tC owners load on the APC gear so that the over-tanned, 42 IQ blonde wearing tacky hollister shirt, with no taste will acknowledge them as "one of those cars from teh F&F"... (Insert quote above from cuba here).. so they are basically the same people who ran out and bought a honda civic after that retarted movie came out, threw on some stickers and an ill-fitting body kit, then went out to smoke every Ferrari they could find.
Now that's just MOST of the tC owners..
From there, there are 2 more categories... The ones who just want to build a nice car.. These are the ones that you can actually say look nice.. (VERY FEW)
The last category are the guys who don't give a flying **** what their car looks like, they just want it to be fast. Only focusing on performance (or mainly anyway)...
Anyway... my point is... I have alot of respect for anyone who wants to get out their and mod their car BECAUSE THEY ENJOY IT.. (See the last 2 categories)... But what you find with alot of the tC owners is that they don't build the car for themselves, they mod simply to "look cool" or "impress girls" or countless other things.
And if you tell someone that you drive a Scion tC, and they think that's the box car.. Then not only do they not keep up on cars, but they probably don't care either.
